^^^^ McFarlane are also making 4" and 6" action figures based on POP. No images as yet.

Both lines are pretty limited, two figures of Dustan, a couple of random baddies/thugs (Hassassins?) and that's it. Oh, some horses for the 4" figures as well. No major villain or hot chick figures it would appear.

With Clash of the Titans coming out I thought Bruckheimer or Mechner would have wanted sand demons or creatures from Persian myth as opponents.

I think youmean sand, but yes I have a feeling there will be.

There will be no sand monsters.
But anybody who activates the dagger becomes a "sand wraith" (maybe we can say this) and then he will be able to travel back in time. You can see this in the new featurette of the film.
That's all about sand monsters.
