Keeping people guessing whether or not Promethues is a Alien prequel is actully working in their favor. Its getting people talking about the movie.

True, but I think it's a combination of things that give the movie its buzz, including the exciting idea of Ridley Scott returning to the genre that launched his illustrious career, and just a really interesting looking sci-fi/horror movie on an epic scale.

I like the idea that it'll expand on the ideas and themes from 'Alien' and fleshs out the universe as a whole. I'm certainly glad it's not all about the xenomorph, but will hopefully explain why they exist and what's their original purpose.

I wonder what are the chances that there will be a new kind of xenomorph maybe a predecessor to the classic alien. The ideal for me would be to see a xeno that has SJ dna,it would be huge and would have some weird features.

I think the way the title comes onto the screen is a dead giveaway it is an Alien prequel.

I wonder if when Ridley Scott said that Prometheus wasn't an Alien Prequel, he meant that it was a prequel to A L I E N, but pretty much not necessarily a prequel concerning the Xenomorphs that we all know and love.

Aside from some visual cues to original film, such as the design, Space Jockey and the Derelict, and the fact that Scott said the last 8 minutes of this film will lead into A L I E N territory, he's also said that this is pretty much a standalone film, even though it is a prequel. It has more to do with the Space Jockey and mankind's mysterious origins. He's even mentioned how the original Alien design has pretty much overused:

“Absolutely not. They squeezed it dry. He (the xenomorph) did very well. (He laughs) He survived, he’s now in Disneyland in Orlando, and no way am I going back there. How did he end up in Disneyland? I saw him in Disneyland, Jesus Christ!”
So, I think that was what he meant when it's not an "Alien" prequel. Just my 0.02 on the subject. :yay:

I think the same. The threat is probably not the xenomorphs, but they may appear in some small capacity. That's what I think Prometheus is, too.

Scottish Actress Kate Dickie who plays Mudow gave an interview with the Daily Star newspaper in which she gave away a couple of spoilerish stuff

It mentions that her character lasts 28 minutes in the film before an alien eats her.

The aliens actually chase the characters through the halls of the Prometheus ship.

Her character is First Officer Mudow and she helps the crew become acclimated to their removal from cryo-sleep.

After apparently five years in hypersleep, with muscles wasted away with five years without use she helps the crew get fit only for the crew to fall victim to creatures stalking them for food.
Nothing too major.

Uh. Yeah, that is ****ing major. Just letting you know. That spoils so much. That pretty much spoils the entire end of the movie.

Thanks.

He did sort of write a warning beforehand and put it in spoiler tags. Don't know what you were exactly expecting when you clicked on "Spoilers!!Click to read". :p

Yeah, but he said "nothing major". And spoilerish. Not quite spoiler. So it lead me to believe it was a minor plot detail.

I clearly read it. When someone says "nothing major" I tend to think of it being something like...

"SPOILERS- My character likes to have sex. And she has sex in the film." Nothing major.

Not the entire last act of the movie.

I'll click a SPOILER tag if someone says it doesn't spoil too much.

Don't know what to tell you other than you're in the spoiler thread where stuff like that is bound to happen.

If you were playing it that safe you shouldn't of even taken the chance to begin with.

I know I wouldn't of.

Is the black chick head stretching outward? What in the world!?

I personally don't think it spoils that much but I put it in a spoiler tag anyway because I know for some people that might count as a bigger spoiler.

Sorry if it spoiled anything for you CelticPreadator.

Nothing in the spoiler gave away the ending as the details she talked about take place early in the film. Nothing in the spoiler most people couldn't of guessed from the trailer and its not anything to do with the bigger overarching plot I would say.

Its from the Daily Star a super low rent British so it could be rubbish but they were somewhat particular with certain details so I thought I would post it anyway.

But, it kinda spoils a plot twist. And the last 28 minutes of the movie. I mean, yes, anyone could see it coming, except for the hyperspace thing. That's huge.
