Prometheus is fast becoming one of my most-anticipated movie of the movie, and right now I'd rank up right behind The Avengers, TDKR, and The Hobbit (beating out ASM).

This movie is looking more incredible every time new stills or footage from it surface. Looking to be a good one for this year.

Is that like Inception? :oldrazz: ;)

But yeah, I know what you mean. For me it goes The Dark Knight Rises, then Prometheus. I'd also put Dark Shadows, Lincoln and Djano Unchained on there before Avengers and ASM.

Next year is looking good.

This year. ;)

Prometheus adds Jordan to film locations

The clue starts at the Prometheus cast and crew page at IMDB which has been updated with an entry for Adam Sculthorp, who is now listed as "stereographer: Jordan, Iceland & vex units".

A further search leads to cinematography specialists 4K London, who's team consists of one Mary Lobb who is listed as wrangler for Prometheus on IMDB.
According to her profile on the 4K website:
"Mary acted as Data Wrangler for the entire main unit shoot of Ridley Scott’s 'Prometheus', based predominantly at Pinewood Studios, but also including location work in Jordan and Iceland."
Also, the Royal Film Commission of Jordan has listed Prometheus on their list of films for 2011. According to their newsletter from June 2011, the filming took place in May 2011.

Originally the production crew were scheduled to shoot certain scenes in Morocco last year, but apparently the producers decided last minute to move to another location due to the civil unrest in the area at the time.

As to what was actually shot in Jordan will remain a mystery for the time being. There have been rumors circulating that the Prometheus story starts with an excavation on Earth revealing ancient alien artefacts which leads the story towards space. Could Jordan be the filming location for these excavations?

Other movies filmed on location in Jordan include Lawrence of Arabia, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Hurt Locker and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Interesting. Jordan *could* double for an alien landscape, but I'm inclined to agree that the story actually starts out with archeologists in the Middle East discovering clues that point to outer space. Indiana Jones meets Erich von Daniken (and the goofy modern Ancient Astronauts dude....don't know his name)

I'm really jazzed for this movie, especially after watching the first 3 Alien films the last 2 days

^Yeah I bought the quadrilogy recently and watching it really has me excited for Prometheus, probably more so than any other movie this year.

Prometheus: The Art of the Film now for pre-order

Comic store Forbidden Planet is now taking pre-orders on a Prometheus related book.
The hardback book, titled 'Prometheus: Art of the Film', will be released on June 10th 2012 and features production design art and behind the scenes photos from the film.

The book's synopsis states:

"The most eagerly awaited film of 2012 - Ridley Scott returns to sci-fi for the first time since Blade Runner!

Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner) returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. Produced with the full co-operation of the filmmakers, this lavish book, showcasing stunning production design art and behind the scenes photos, will be the only tie-in publishing to this eagerly awaited film."

I still get chills watching the trailer and hearing the original music from the old Alien trailer in it.

Oooo, I hope we get those soon, if they have rated it I would assume in the next week or so.

We sort of have to, don't we? The corpse of the Space Jockey had to get that all too familiar looking chestwound from somewhere, right?

Not necessarily what we would recognize as either.

Not necessarily, but I think it's more than likely. Still, time'll tell I guess...

Is that like a dream within a dream?

LOL, I didn't even notice the typo until now. :funny:

But won't it be interesting if at the end of the movie, they all woke up and discovered that it was just a dream from their long slumber inside cynogenics? Okay, maybe it won't be such a good idea. :o
