If its the same synopsis that I'm thinking of, then it's definitely fake. It originated on imdb. A guy basically made up a plot based around the leaked trailer last month. If I remember correctly.

If he did that he's EXCEPTIONALLY creative, I'll give him that. I dunno though, Occum's Razor and all, seems like a stretch to be able to do all that. Even those lines in the beginning jive with the supposed ending. Hey if it's fake it's fake. I'm sure the next trailer will reveal more of the true plot though.

It's scenes like that in the trailer that make me wonder if the leak was legit.

They say the Android begins to change into a human according to the leak. They also talk about skeleton monsters, and one of the crew members appears to be turning into one towards the end there. If that synopsis leak was legit I'm ready because it sounded pretty awesome.

I was reading over the leak again last night and came to the conclusion that it was BS. For one thing, they mentioned the corporation as being Weyland-Yutani instead of just Weyland. The ending also doesn't match up with what we've seen in the trailer, It says that Rapace's character flees the planet with a jockey in pursuit, and that the jockey crashes on LV-426 along the way. It never states why the jockey crashes and implies that it gets infected with the alien after the crash. Since all of the other crew members are dead/transformed/sucked into a wormhole by this point, none of this lines up with the trailer, which shows the humans fleeing from the crashed jockey ship as it falls over.

Notice that logo on the rearview monitor. It is not a Weyland Yutani vehicle, but just Weyland Corporation one. Also, the camera shows that the vehicle is going backwards at full speed towards the alien chamber with the weird containers. Edit: Or maybe that's the cargo bay.

Wow she looks REALLY different here than she looks in the swedish GWTDT movies. Almost did not recognize her.

So judging by the Weyland logos on stuff I'm guessing this takes place before Weyland merges with Yutani.

We were debating before if when Nostromo crew recieved company orders from WeylandYuntani to investigate the signal from the derelict alien spacecraft if the company knew that Aliens were on the ship.

My theory is that the human crew in Prometheus don't make it back and are presumed missing and were last heard from in the region the Nostromo crew were passing through so WeylandYuntani orders them to investigate in hopes that its possibly the missing Promethues ship.

Good theory and this could be very plausible!

I think it's probably somewhat true but the details maybe wrong. Some of it looks eerily accurate. I would be surprised if it's the skeleton outline that someone overembelished.

I can only guess this alien race was in the business of creating and harvesting parasitic life forms. Btw, I just looked up H.R. Giger and was pleased to find that he is not dead.

The other thing is Fox said it was fan fiction. Kind of weird for Fox to address something that is just fan fiction. I wrote an X-Men 3 killed off Cyclops, Xavier and Jean leaving Wolverine and Storm to lead. It even had the government capture Mystique. Yeah it was coincidence but it wasn't as similar as this is.

I'm guessing the 2 "superpowers" who control Earth and are fighting for the solar system's resources are the Weyland and Yutani corporations?

also, it describes the alien race as "bio-mechanoid" killers........hmmm.......

I definitely would take it with a grain of "naughty" salt, but the description sounds plausible enough.

And yanno, I was just thinking: *if* this turns out to be an apt overview of the film, it looks like Prometheus will be --- consciously or unconsciously --- the antithesis of Avatar. i.e.: Avatar is about a greedy corporation exploiting a distant planet, and they encounter Kicking Bird and the Lakota Sioux tribe a peaceful, primitive indigenous population who fight off the invaders; Prometheus is about a greedy corporation exploiting a distant planet, and they encounter a hostile, powerful, advanced indigenous population who obliterate the invaders.

That's what I think. There were a lot of notes on the space jockey that had been written prior to Prometheus and that story is really the only logical explanation because it matches everything we know about SJ. Like you I doubt the ending because it just seems very different from the rest of the 'leak'. It's kind of an awkward, cliche' ending which doesn't really try into the plot. I would be surprised if we don't glimpse and proto-xenomorph. The thing about

them going to a primordial Earth seem like they could have cred. The planet they are on does look about right for Earth at that time. Plus the title Prometheus does lend itself to the notion that they may witness the seeding of life on Earth. Prometheus was the giver of fire to man afterall. We also clearly witness a man changing into a 'skeleton creature' in the trailer which was talked about in the leak. The ship crashing in the trailer could be her witnessing the first ENGINEER coming to Earth to teraform the planet.
