Well in Aliens in the directors cut a.k.a Special Edition you see a cene with Ripley looking at a photo of her Daughter.

What if it Shaw is her Daughter but dies in this film? Then the "company" just makes up that she died of old age?

Being her Mother would be more plausible though because of the time-travel aspect which wouldn't work her being her daughter. It would be awesome if she was her Mother.

The Alien universe doesn't need time travel, linking the "old" movies to the new ones by making her Ripley's daughter is just too much. IMO.

Yes. I definitely agree with you there. There should be no connections to Ripley whatsoever in Prometheus. At the time of Alien she was no one special, just some space trucker type who happened upon the space jockey ship. Including a Ripley reference in Prometheus would be forced and ridiculous. Prometheus is in the same universe as Alien, but they aren't overtly connected.
