PS3 Price Cut. Sony one ups MS yet again

Mentok said:
1- The lack of central service for the Online Network
2- Microtransactions, subscriptions and fees on almost everything that is called 'Content' on the Online service... Jesus there is even reports from TGS that SONY will be charging for game demos.
That we all have a legitimate right to b***h about. All you can do is hope that it's at least better than Playstation 2 Online.

3- BR-DVD That I dont want.
Considering that all Playstation 3 games are being made with blu-ray DVDs instead of regular DVDs, I don't see the problem with that. Also while normal blu-ray DVDs cost about $1,000, with the Playstation 3, you get a blu-ray player that can play Playstation, Playstation 2, and Playstation 3 games for $500. That's a deal if you ask me.

4- No rumble function in the controlller.
I wish that they would return to the rumble feature. Hopefully in time, they'll make a new controller that includes it.

5- They stuck with an outdated controller design.
So, the Dual Shock design is great. One of the best controllers if you ask me. Almost everyone loved the Dual Shock and everyone hated the Batarang design, so Sony decided to go back to what everyone liked and wanted.

6- Serious lack of games that look even half interesting.
Resistance: Fall of Man, Ratchet and Clank, the untitled Naughty Dog game, Devil May Cry 4, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Tekken 6, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Tekken 6, Lair, and more to come

7- Price is still to high even if the drop comes.
Now you're b***hing just to b***h. The Playstation 3 has a blu-ray player and an 80GB hard drive compared to the Xbox 360's regular DVD player and 20GB hard drive. Naturally it is going to be more expensive. $600 would have been too expensive, but $500 is quite reasonable.

Nope... All my complaints about the PS3 are still there.
Most of your complaints are to b***h just for the sake of b***hing.

Either do you or LongDong.

And either do I for that matter.

I refused to take part in the console flame wars they made this place no fun at all. And I like the Xbox 360 and if it weren't for the Playstation 3's high price I would be getting one. Microsoft has vastly improved over last generation.

You dont know many people do you?

No, they ditched the concept design because noone wanted it. The old design was the lesser of two evils.

Sorry... The GC controller is the best design ever (the WAVEBIRD version even more so)

And thats not opinion, its fact.

It's the best for Nintendo games, I'll give you that, but... not so good.... for a lot of other games.

You do realize that pretty much outside of Resistance most of those games do not come out until mid / late 2007. I am a Final Fantasy, Devil May Cry, Tekken fan but I am certainly not going to rush out anytime soon after launch day to get a PS3 to play some games that wont come out for well over another year. I can wait to play Resistance thats just another FPS.

How many war time FPS games do we really need? It seems to be all I can see on the racks these days!

What easier way to justify a FPS then putting it ina wartime setting, it's easier then doing all the hard work of coming up with complex inter characcter motivations and the like. :o

Sorry people:

Sadly, though, Sony is sticking firm with its North American PS3 plans. "In the US, we're comfortable with the pricing that we announced at E3--$499 for the 20 gigabyte version and $599 for the 60-gigabyte version," Sony Computer President Kaz Hirai told GameSpot. "There are no plans right now to adjust the pricing for the US market."
Though disappointed, potential PS3 purchasers in the US did get a bit of a consolation prize from Hirai. The executive confirmed that every 20GB PS3 worldwide will have an HDMI port, not just in Japan, as some had speculated.

Did the Japanese kill each other or something over the high priced PS3 for them to get a price drop only or something bad like that in order for Sony to lower the price ? The Japanese must really be Sony ****es more then we know

It's probably more of a "Oh hey...about us sending those Westerners 4x's the PS3s as we're giving you? Here...how about a price break?...peace??"

If they were bigger Sony ****es then you suspected then why would Sony have needed to drop the price.

wrong... it's not fact at all.

it is an okay controller at best. but you complain about the feel of the dual shock's joysticks and you like the gamecube controller's? really?

that's just weird.

GCN's joysticks were kind of crappy (especially the C-stick "nipple"), and the button layout was weird and not very accomidating for fighting games or shooters. It was extremely comfortable in the hands, but other than that, the PS2 controller was more functional.

To keep them as their Ultimate Sony ****es & still have at least them as their #1 supporters. Also include the fact that its a Japan exclusive price cut surely Japan Gamers must love that little included fact

Seriously though... Who plays Nintendo for 3rd party games? :p

Still dosent change the fact SONY are pushing a format I dont need or want.

It used to be a great design. That was many years ago. It not my fault SONY fans are so scared of change.

Yeah, 3 games announced so far that are even slightly interesting to me. Thats not worth buying the PS3 for.

Yeah... If you live in AMERICA. Seeing as the PS3 will cost $1000 here not to mention $120 to $130 for a game Its simply too expensive for what the PS3 is. A console which is seriously lacking a decent games list for me.

Most of your complaints are to b***h just for the sake of b***hing.

Bull****. My complaints are valid. You are being ******ed for thinking that just because you dont agree with me that I am simply "*****ing for the sake of *****ing" :o

Like I have said all along... I will be getting a PS3 but not until there are valid reasons for me to get one. Right now the pros are outweighed by the cons.

I'm just going to wait for the price to drop to something I can afford. And then, I'll take a look at the PS3 and decide if I even want the thing, because I'm not altogether sure I do.

Seriously, if the core PS3 does indeed drop to 400...everywhere, I'll skip the 360 and pick PS3Cheap up. I'll give Sony credit where credit is do, they're not pulling a Microsoft and releasing a core unit that is total trash. They've improved the PS3Cheap, quite a bit.

So, I do hope that the price drops everywhere. 400 would be a steal.

Wii will still be the only system I get at launch this gen, but I do plan on getting a PS3 now.

Good job Sony.
