Yeah, they were here in Indiana before that doing the Crown Point scene where he escapes. Pretty crazy.

I have to be honest, I'm a little upset about the casting of Bale and Depp in 'Public Enemies.' Bale has been playing the "good guy" way too much lately. I would've really liked to see his and Depp's roles reversed, with Bale playing the bad guy.

Bale should get more villian roles indeed, but I don't mind him playing the good guy in this.

His only non-hero role since Batman Begins was Alfred Borden in The Prestige, he's not really a villain in that, but not a really nice guy either...

I'm talking about :
Sean Penn for Milk
Mickey Rourke for The Wrestler
Will Smith for Seven Pounds

Our awards review movies from 1-st August 2008 to July 30-th 2009 (one year) and these movies and performances are in that time line as Depp's in Public Enemies.

Are you serious? What the hell is this movie even about? All I get is a dude changing strangers lives and Smith calling a dude up and saying, "it's time." And that's it. Who thinks this will be Smith's first bomb?

We'll see when we start hearing reviews. The fact that no one knows what it's about makes people curious.

Bale has done way to many villian role to the popint he almost got typecast.

if chuck D and flavor Flav are not in this movie i'm not seeing it...

What the **** are you talking about?

Dillinger's the villain in this....right? And when has he ever played a villain (with the possible exception of American Psycho)?

He was a villain in Shaft
But i'd like to see him change between hero and villain a bit.

Ahh, yes. I forgot he was even in Shaft. But aside from that and American Psycho, he's mostly been heroes. I mean... The Prestige is debatable, but I think he's the hero over Jackman's character.

He was a villain in harsh times

Someone said he has dont too many goodguy roles, and should do more badguys. My message was a reply to this. Im aware he isnt the villain in this.

What he needs to do is not play hero or villian roles. Either something in between or neither.

*sigh*

So another classic team-up that had potential for greatness, and Bale gets terribly outshined by his opposite?

The guy's clearly not a fan of Bale in the first place, and it's one review. Bale's problem lately is he's not being out-acted, just the roles opposite him are more interesting. There's so much more you can do with Joker, than Batman. Even though he's brilliant as Batman. In 3:10 to Yuma he's good again, but with a generic character, so Cage got the spotlight.

Fixed.

Could be. Though besides Ledger, I thought Oldman and Eckhart outshined Bale in TDK. Hopefully this is just one man's opinion and other reviews will be better. I've been looking forward to this movie since hearing of the trio of Mann, Depp, and Bale.

Are you meaning Yuma Crook ? I don't think he got outshone in that, Crowe had the flamboyant outlaw with the flash lines, Bale had to get across an empathetic every man against the odds and avoid pity, he did a fantastic job with Dan Evans IMO and provided the films heart.

Eckhart maybe, but I felt Bale nailed both aspects so very well in TDK, especially given all the big bravura lines the other 2 got.

Neither Bale or Crowe was that special in Yuma. Bale was much better in Rescue Dawn.

I disagree on the first part.

No word on the trailer yet... :(

PS: I hope the movie did not get pushed back like alot of movie these days.

I think it will be early next year when we get a teaser, maybe with the Superbowl.

A lot of it has to do with the role and what's written in the script. Yuma was a case of wasted potential, imo. Great flick and performances, but when you have Bale and Crowe acting opposite each other....take advantage.

Depp and Bale is an even greater pairing because they both have their established fanbases and are undoubtedly ruling Hollywood right now. To get any hint that one outshines the other, be it due to the role or performance...it's just, meh.
