nobody was "quick to judge" your post, you just had a sloppy way of wording it

learn how to type out your thoughts a little better so they're not "misread"

How Exactly was it "Sloppy"?You were the one who assume I never seen any other Batman adaptation except the Nolan films. As far Public Enemies I'm really excited for this movie.I think it could easily be the best movie this summer.

with the big stars in this movie i'd think id be more excite to see this..

but im not at all.. maybe cause of i dont like the directors style..idk

ill probably skip this... and mayybe rent it

miami vice i completely disliked..in about just every way.

collateral was a below-meh movie in theaters and decent for rental..

i dont care if 20 years ago he made a good movie...their just getting worse.

I've yet to see Miami Vice.

Never really appealed to me.

I agree with xwolverine2, Miami Vice was horrible, but I still like Mann a lot. Heat, Collateral, The Insider, and Manhunter are great films, imo.

I thought Collateral was one of Tom Cruise's better performances.

Don't forget The Last of the Mohicans.

Aw, I liked Miami Vice and thought it was very, very underrated. But I do realize it had some major flaws. Still, that one included, I've never seen a bad film from Michael Mann. Even his weakest (MV and Ali for me) were still very much worth seeing, imo.

Here's another positive review from Emanuel Levy.

So does anyone think the extremly real film quality will take them out of the film? I think it was the review from empire, or it may have been the one from total film, actually commented on it saying that some people will dig it and others won't. In some parts of the trailer its actually noticable. I think its more a matter of us not being used to it, which IMHO is a good thing.

Nice.

I actually said this in my 'review' a couple pages back. In some spots it was noticeable and I did feel it took me out of the film. But I'd have to agree with you that may have been due to the fact that I'm not used to digital (and that going in I had completely forgot that they were even using digital :o). Since the release date is getting closer more people have been asking me about the movie and I haven't been able to say too many bad things about the it, so I think most of the things I disliked were because I was expecting something different. In a way, I'm more excited to see it again than I first was. I'm hoping now that I know what to expect I'll be able to appreciate it more instead of just being thrown off. :woot:

& On RT it currently has 80% (only 5 reviews so far though)

So the reviews have been positive?
Somewhat - Variety, Rex Reed, Rolling Stone, Empire, Total Film, and Emanuel Levy are all positive (and in all but Variety's case, unabashedly LOVED it), but the notable negatives so far have been The Hollywood Reporter, The New York Post, and now, TIME.

But there's a also another positive one from IGN UK.

Honestly, so far it seems to me like it all comes back to the camerawork - if they hate the camerawork, they find the overall film (including other elements) lacking, and if they like the camerawork, they find the movie very satisfying.

That kinda camera work is awesome... I don't get what people are whining about.

I love being up close and personal with the action.

wow the time reveiw was pretty brutal "It lacks overall focus, and at the end you may have a question for Michael Mann: Why'd you bother?"

seems very much the opposite of the rest of the reveiws, but as flickchick85 says it seems like if they like the camera they love everything else, and if they hate it everything else as well, which is a bit strange. We'll all just have to wait and see for ourselves.

Makes me nervous...I hope I like the camerawork.

i loved it in the shootout clip it has a surreal feel about it and you feel like you are actually in the movie somehow

I agree the digital look gave something extra to collaterol, i haven't seen it since it first came out

Some great clips on the official site, mostly from what the trailers were made from, so nothing spoilerish.

I find mann very hit and miss. Miami Vice, Collatterall, Ali just don't have a soul.....but then he makes something like The Insider-brilliant. Personally i'm not sure about making a film set in the 30's on digital. I don't like digital anyway, i think it's impersonal, sterile and altogether very unwatchable.

But i'll still be seeing this no question
