Where are you going to send your kids?

I will most likely have to send mine (when I have some) to Private school since public schools seems to really suck now.
Not like it was years ago when I went.

I don’t know, I went to a private school that was very I don’t know “Corrupt?” they always gave grades to students they liked, And some Private schools have limited numbers and if one persons different they can get singled out, While in a public school they have more chance to make friends.

I remember these 3 guys kept beating me up and I told the teacher and he had a calm talk with them, I broke one of their noses and I got Suspended after that My dad took me out.

this is a tough one . . . I went to shytty public schools all my life, and am doing okaaaaay, but I think I could've benefitted from a more personal education program . . .

Aren't private schools pretty expensive

Yes they are...but they usually have better teachers...
BUt then again, all schools are different.

Depends on the private school. If I found one that really instilled creative thinking, problem solving and free thinking in kids, along with giving them sound fundamental education, and afforded them a chance at healthy social interaction to develop interpersonal skills, I'd absolutely put my kids in a private school.

I go to public school now and absolutely loathe it. I only have 2 good teachers now. One of them is retiring this year and the other I only like b/c he does these crazy experiments. I'll probably send my kids to a private school.

Public education hasn't dropped that low here yet so I'll probably go for a public school.

I'd most likely send my kids to private school. I personally hated public school.

No school, theyll work on my farm.

Private school, public schools are a joke.

My main point is, I would not willingly become a parent unless I was very well off. very! I don't think it's fair that everyone thinks they are "supposed" to have a family and have kids. Too many people do it just because it's normal, when they aren't fit parents, or are poor. It's not fair if you can't afford to send your kids to a private school and a GOOD college.

There's no reason to keep populating America with endless amounts of people who will be shoved off to overcrowded public schools (like mine, largest public school in Ohio.) I would never want to make a child that is in my situation (overcrowded, crappy public school, cheap college.) We are are such an evolved state of society here that it doesn't really make sense to keep sending so many people through life on so little. If a certain chunk of the class with a lesser chance fell by the wayside, I think our country could be strengthened.

right now im going to private school, and although at first the very idea of going made me want to choke on my own vomit i really love it now.
it really is more personal and it gives the kids a way better chance to make it on their own but still have something to fall back on. the friends ive made are also far far closer to me then those i had made at public, which i had gone to all my life until my freshman year. i came back to public for my sophmore year and i couldnt stand it. so im back in private now and i honestly prefer it. but as mentioned above, im sure it depends from school to school. :o

Public schools are better up here in Canada ....... We have few private schools.

Okay, turns out you guys have a totally different definition of public/private schools. We don't even have public schools in the Netherlands like you guys do in America. A public school is to us what a part of private school (we still have government regulations) is to you guys (as I'm pretty sure tuition always needs to be paid here).

I'll just quote a post I made in another thread for my view on the subject:

Well, I'd like to interject that public school education has done great for me so far.

I've met some of the best, most insightful, thought provoking, and caring teachers in my life in public high school. Teachers willing to accomodate for my inattentive disorder and (if need be) provide exstensive one on one help in subjects that I struggle in, or assignments that I'm having problems with.

Just the perspective on one student still in public schooling.

I also recognize that many, if not most public schools in the country are in bad shape, but I wanted to inject my personal experience into the argument.

Depends on which country I'll be having kids

If it's in Mexico they are going to Public schools. Private school kids suck ass and are one of the most shallow and pricky kids I've ever met

If it's in the states I'll send my schools to study to Mexico anyways, since the level of education in the science dept in Mexico is HIGHLY better than the states. Unless I live deep into the united states, then they'll be in a good school no matter if it's public or private

If it's in some European country I don't know.

I do like public schools but theres always trouble that occurs. Well sometimes theres trouble at private schools to.

Public school all the way. Unless I marry a millionaire & I make my own nice little stash of money, they'll be going to private...but most likely public.:o

I would send my kids to public schools, unless I live in a really ****ty school district. I wouldn't send my kids to a close-minded religious school though.
