I think this is my most anticipated Quentin Tarantino film since I've known him and his work. Certainly glad he is not doing another western again.

I know he has said he wishes to 'retire' in two films time, I just hope he completes his Kill Bill trilogy within the confines of his time before retirement.

Is Anubis still here? I think that was his type.

There are lots of star kids in this movie. Haley Quinn Smith (Kevin Smith's daughter) is the latest to join OUATIH. It also seems like Margaret Qualley has a substantial role in the movie.

Speaking of The Wrecking Crew, here's Sharon Tate, Bruce Lee and Nancy Kwan on set - rehearsing a fight scene.

That's totally awesome. Looking at the poster behind Robbie, this was obviously a Matt Helm flick. Wasn't he a Mickey Spillane character, IIRC? Or from some other pulp writer?

Not Spillane; but the Matt Helm character did originate in a series of books. I remember The Wrecking Crew as a late night movie on TV (back in the days when TV ran late night movies :funny:). It was a kind of spoof/parody of James Bond. Apparently, Dean Martin did three other Helm movies prior to The Wrecking Crew. I didn’t know those even existed.

Ah, thanks for the info.

So Matt Helm was more of a spy parody then (compared to the Mike Hammer more noir-ish private eye stuff). I haven't watched any of those flicks (which sounds wonderfully cheesy awesome if Dean Martin was involved). I'm pretty sure I've read a couple of the books though, but that was like 35 years ago when I was a kid.

BTW, was Matt Helm the one who named his various concealed weapons (a small grenade, a gun etc) after women's names?

She looks fantastic! Really looking forward to the movie! The cast and premise look solid

Great pic, thanks for posting it. Chuck Norris' film debut I believe.

So apparently Victoria Pedretti from The Haunting of Hill House is in this and QT should count himself lucky, because she's gonna be a ****ing star. Mark my words.

QT smoking out of the Hans Landa pipe. Lawd.

Honestly there are times I feel that Q is someone I maybe should have fallen out of love with as a director and public personality. Like... He's not really changed since I first got to know of him and his work when I was 18 years old in 1994. Shouldn't he have fallen out of my favor by now and be seen as a creator that is the essence of stylistic acumen over substantive artistic statements? Should I be approving of a man in his mid 50's who articulates his inner thoughts in a borderline cartoonish manner as a teenager would? Compounding all that, isn't he one of the biggest influences on a culture that embraces emotionally empty nostalgia that's merely an excuse for corporate overlords to squeeze a few more cents out of the pop culture detritus of yesteryear? Shouldn't I be disdainful or at least a little mad at Quentin?

Then I see a picture like this and understand that I would trade my entire life's experience in a heart beat to be this man and make the movies he's made. Mazel Tov Mr. T. Mazel Tov.
