Has the script for this movie leaked yet?

Margot looking like she’s about to win that Oscar.

Pretty perfect casting. I really hope he doesn't show the actual murders though. It's too horrible to come back from for a fictional tale that is presumably supposed to be as amusing as all QT movies are.

Robbie in GOAT-Mode. Oscar 2020 is hers.

Meh? You obviously suffer from a serious medical condition.

Margot looks great, but isn't assuming she's going to win an Oscar based on one picture a bit premature? Come on now...

[BLACKOUT](BTW, if she does end up winning an Oscar for this I'll eat crow...someone just remember to quote this after the 2020 Oscars :o)[/BLACKOUT]

How substantial her part will be anyway?

I don't care if she wins an oscar or not, she's stunner. Great costume and make up work too.

my excitement for this film has reached 200% levels now. Btw, Margot looks fantastic as sharon!

That makes me happy. I hope that means it doesn't include the actual murders. Because I don't think Tate's sister would thumbs up something that tasteless, nor do I think Robbie would necessarily want to play that kind of scene at this point in her career.

TBH, I've got an impression that Manson murders, even if featured in the film, serve as a background at best. It's not the focus of the story. So I never expected some detailed portrayal. Even in Kill Bill, which deals with purely fictional characters and features plenty of violence, QT refrained from showing a pregnant woman being beaten (if we don't count highly stylized animated sequence).

I also think QT in general is aware what needs to be taken seriously and what can be a joke subject in his films. What's tasteless and what isn't. Unlike some other directors.

Inglourious Basterds opens with a Jewish family being massacred by Nazis.

Eh, if ya'll want talk about poor taste, there is a Sharon Tate movie with Hilary Duff. They don't hold back on that it seems.

She's obviously beautiful but she doesn't do it for me. The obviously unattainable types like her and Gadot that everyone else loses their minds over don't usually move my needle. It's like they are so beautiful and glamorous that they end up lacking something for me in terms of just appreciating them as objects of fantasy lust or the like. That they are beautiful is indisputable. They just don't rev my engine is all.

Usually all the over the top, almost cartoonish violent deaths in his movies pretty much solely happens to bad people (Hitler and various Nazis in Inglourious Basterds, some of the Hateful Eight, damn near all of the bad guys in Django). I don't think he'll be showing the murders in this film. At least not explicitly.

That is horrible... but it was fictional and framed in a way to mirror The Searchers. To put it another way, if it had opened on Anne Frank's capture, or went to Auschwitz and showed Waltz execute Jewish people who are starving... the movie wouldn't have worked to put it mildly. Whereas the opening of the film is almost a Western and barely shows the actual deaths.

Sharon Tate was forced to beg for the life of her unborn child at nearly nine months pregnant and then stabbed in the stomach.... I don't want to see that, and I don't think most people do.

I think we will all be surprised at the limited amount the Tate tragedy actually plays into the story Q is telling with this film.
