Civil war was the best thing to happen to Marvel...if you forget that these guys have been friends for years and wouldnt be ready to kill each other, that a legislation to outlaw superheroing would get passed with out months and months of senate hearings in which almost every superhero would offer testimony, That Tony stark isnt a villain who would plan to place his comrades in a prison(in another dimension) with no due process.
And that Captain America's relevancy actually comes down to who won last years American Idol or how much time he spends on Youtube.

You mean like a massive overhaul to America's security apparatus severely curtailing many Americans' constitutional freedoms wouldn't get passed without months and months of hearings in which the wide range of people affected would offer testimony?

I mean I didn't even like Civil War but don't kid yourself that governments don't pull some naughty **** when they think they can get away with it.

...Not to mention that where Marvel is concerned this is the same government which approved these guys to actively go out and murder mutants so you'd hardly expect them to be less antagonistic towards their citizenry than our own elected representatives.
