Up to 71% now. I think it'll be bouncing back and forth until enough reviews come in to stabilize it. Right now there's only 14.That's a massive drop, yikes.
Why not? It's not like it was directed by Michael Bay or Uwe Boll and by some miracle was a terrific movie.I wonder how the Academy will approach this as regards reviews, I mean if they go solely on critical response they may have to nominate TDK, which I am sure they'd rather not do.
^My feeling is, if the Academy intents to sustain any relevance in modern popular culture, to overlook TDK would be a fatal mistake.

We'll have to see which critics societies will nominate TDK. More knowledgeable people will have more to say about that, but I've heard it mentioned. Also mentioned is the BFCA score, which has apparently always been a good Oscar nomination gauge. By TDK's BFCA score alone (96!), I feel pretty safe that it will at least be on a nomination shortlist.
And I also think they'd rather have people watch the Oscar broadcast this year, in which case it would behoove them very muchly to nominate TDK.![]()

But just the fact there´s actual, serious Oscar buzz around this movie is a unique accomplishment. X2 didn´t get it, SM2 didn´t get it, IM didn´t get it.
God, I really hope it's nominated. Hell, if it's nominated but doesn't win it will be the comic book film that really "changed things forever."
I still don't see why the academy can't nominate the film. It's been praised by critics. And usually when the critics agree, so does the academy. Yeah, I know they're a bunch of stuck up and snobbish people. But before they says, "It's a comic book film" and dismiss it, how about actually pikcing up a goddamn comic book and see what they are actually about.
