Why on earth did Raimi leave in the terrible female news reporter talking about the final fight scene?

Her embarassing comments recieved mocking laughter both times I watched the movie.

Yea her fake british accent was annoying and took me out the fight scene.

My gosh I rolled my eyes the whole time she was on screen. So overdramatic and fake sounding lol. One of the bad things about this movie.

"And Spider-Man seems to have come out of nowhere to answer the cries of the city....."

Come out of nowhere?! He swung in as usual. Where were you expecting him to come from? A taxi?

If they cut out the reporter, then I hope they also cut out that GAY lingering shot of the American flag.

Yeah, could have done without her running commentary on the final fight.

I also hated the news thing. It was a little over-doing it.
Her accent hurt it even worse. It was like they were trying to make it a comedy. That whole "It's hard to watch...the...brutuality of it...I...I don't know how much longer he can take..."

Shut up. Just shut up. He's been in worse than that before.

Gay lingering? He jumped onto a building in New York. Many buildings in New York have the American flag on it. Many buildings around the nation have the American flag on it. That is reality.

getting pounded by a giant sandman is pretty damn bad...

if parker's reactions to it were geniune, it should have been up there with the stopping of the runaway train...

I'm pretty sure she was right that he couldn't take much more. It's just the way she said it. Peter seemed to think he was surely going to die. He even reached his hand out to MJ one last time.

Yeah, she was really annoying but so was the cross-eyed newsreader! That old freak was eery!

I agree she was kinda hot though.
her and that chick on the right that was standing next to ulrich when he was giving his his 'change of image' trollocks about changing the bugle's image...

now THAT was a waste of screentime...

but again, chick was hot...

did you catch any of their names?

The "o' et" of "the brutality o' et!" line REALLY makes me cringe, I'd much prefer an american english accent.
Besides that, I  S-M3

LOL. She was awful. Just when I'm getting into the scene I hear her dreadful voice and get pulled right out of it.

Yeah, they should have got a better news woman... it was a 'good' idea, just she delivered the lines horribly. Too many pauses.

I hated all the newscaster scenes, they might as well of had a spinning newspaper segue and a dude in a fedora going, "Item! Spidey to engage in fisticuffs with a rube and a ne'er-do-well!"

Raimi keeping that reporter in the movie cements my opinion that Raimi doesn't focus much on acting.
