Rank the Bat-Films.....

For me its like this...

1)A tie between Batman Begins and Batman '89
2)The Dark Knight
3)Batman Returns
4)Batman Forever
5)Batman & Robin
6)The Dark Knight Rises

^Yes, you read that right. I put TDKR last behind B&R. Let me explain(briefly) why: yes B&R is an awful campy film and if I was ranking them based on objective quality rather than my own personal preference, B&R would have to be last. The reason I detest TDKR slightly more is because at least B&R is sort of entertaining as an unintentional comedy. Its SO bad that I can kinda let go and enjoy it. TDKR, on the other hand, just pisses me off because of the frustration that there SHOULD be a really great movie in here somewhere but it just never 'rises' to the occasion for me on that front. Batman Forever almost suffers from that same fate of being frustrating due to having good elements that just aren't put together right into a good film EXCEPT that Batman/Bruce's characterization is really great in that film and he has a nice character arc. If not for that, BF would probably be tied with TDKR in last place.

The Dark Knight rises last and below Batman and Robin !

You should be in Arkham.

:o

How predictable. lol. I explained why I put it last, yeah even below B&R. Either accept the explanation or don't. No need to flame me. I know its a shock but not everyone's perceptions are the same.

I could turn around and say "you should be in Arkham for thinking that three hour abortion was a good Batman film". I respect that you liked it though and I'm glad you did. I didn't put TDKR behind B&R because I think B&R is better or even good. Go back and read my explanation.

I could understand that. There are many times that I'd watch Batman Forever over Batman Begins. It's not because BF is a better movie because it isn't but I just find it more entertaining and less frustrating to watch than BB.

I remember one of my friends absolutely loving Batman Forever over all the other movies...it was mostly due to it being one of the few positive memories he had of his father as a kid...

moral of the story...even irresponsible parents love batman..

I'm rating and ranking the theatrical live-action ones only.

1. The Dark Knight – 10/10
2. The Dark Knight Rises – 10/10
3. Batman Begins – 9/10
4. Batman Returns – 8/10
5. Batman '66 – 7/10
6. Batman '89 – 6/10
7. Batman Forever – 4/10
8. Batman and Robin – 2/10

1. TDK
2. Batman Begins
3. Batman Returns
4. TDKR
5. Batman

The others I refuse to acknowledge. Live-action, anyway. Under The Hood and Phantasm are all great, but being cartoons, I wouldn't put them in with the live-action films.

* = star

Strictly live action

Dark Knight: *****
Batman Begins: ****3/4
The Dark Knight Rises: ****1/2
Batman 89: ***
Batman 66: **3/4
Batman Forever: **1/2
Batman Returns: 3/4* (Most overrated CBM of all time)
Batman & Robin: 1/2*

The Dark Knight
Batman Begins
The Dark Knight Rises
Batman Forever
Batman 89
Batman Returns
Batman and Robin

1) Batman Begins (10/10+)
2) The Dark Knight (10/10)

4) The Dark Knight Rises (10/10)
5) Batman Returns (8/10)
6) Batman Forever (7/10)
7) Batman & Robin (1/10)

I know my top ten all have 10/10 but I rate Batman Begins as the best cause its the one I enjoy the most, TDK is 2nd best cause its not quite as good as BB, Batman '89 edges out Rises because of nostalgia mostly.

To be honest of we were including animated films the Dark Knight Returns part 1 would be my number 1.

1) Batman (89) = 9.5
2) The Dark Knight Rises = 9.2
3) The Dark Knight = 8.5 (Too-Mad instead of Two-Face? No thanks)
4) Batman Returns = 7.8
5) Batman Begins = 6.5 (hate the revamped origin story among other things)

6) Batman Forever = 3.5 (embarrassing)
7) Batman & Robin = 2.5 (insulting)

1. Batman Returns
2. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
3. Batman Begins
4. The Dark Knight
5. The Dark Knight Rises
6. Batman
7. Batman & Robin

1. Batman Returns
2. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
3. Batman Begins
4. The Dark Knight
5. The Dark Knight Rises

Why Forever below B&R?

The Dark Knight
Batman 89
The Dark Knight Rises
Batman Begins
Batman Forever
Batman Returns
Batman and Robin

Why Forever below B&R?

First, I love all the films. Second, I hate the argument or point I'm presenting because I've called people out on it (not here on the hype necessarily and not on this film but when I talk about movies with friends...),...but as the years have gone by...Jim Carrey kinda ruins the film for me.

1.Batman (1989)
2.Batman Forever
3.Batman Returns

These are the only Batman movies I care about. Others I just don't care.
No animated movies counted either.

Nah i get that makes sense, tbh I really think Forever was the biggest let down of the series in some ways, I think it balances the tone of dark and light just about right for the most part and I really like Kilmer as Batman but the Two Face portrayal is the biggest let down of all. Tommy Lee Jones could have made an awesome Harvey Dent/Two-Face had more been focuse on that and not cheesy over the top plotlines (i.e. the whol Riddler) plot I think it had the potential to be the best of the series. Don't even get me started on Bat Nipples.

To me, it seemed like ZOMBIE was making a pretty simple and harmless joke.

While you did nothing but respond like a humorless cramudgeon. And a rather low class one at that. "Abortion of a film." Please.

1.Rises (A+)
2.TDK (A)
3.Begins (B+)
4.Returns (B)
5.89 (B-)
6.Forever (C)
7. B&R (D) <That's because my ironic enjoyment of all the ham and cheese will never die.

Idiocy. Pure, simple idiocy.

Now that's flaming.

I will tell you ranking maniacs something. If you place two movies at the same spot (which is rather lame to begin with)... like:

1. Batman 89 and The Dark Knight

then your next spot won't be 1 but 3!

So the list should look like that

1. Batman 89 / The Dark Knight
3. Batman Begins
4. Batman 66

:word::word::word:

IMO

Dark Knight- It did pretty much everything right, perfect balance of realism and he superhero stuff

Batman Returns- A tighter version of Burtons first effort, the best you can get from the Keaton/Burton duo. However it is somewhat an acquired taste

The Dark Knight Returns Part 1- I put it above Rises because the story was just better than the one Rises gave us.

The Dark Knight Rises- Rises was a good movie, but it was flawed and the villains just were not as good as they were in the previous films.

Batman- A fun and entertaining movie to watch but more of a classic blockbuster style.

Year One- Imo, since it lacks the actual origin of his fighting abilities, it lacks many of the problems Begins has.

Batman Begins- My big problem with Begins has always been showing him moving around Asia, while trying to maintain realism. It's just not that easy to buy.

Under The Red Hood- Would have been much much higher on the list if not for that Amazo scene.

Batman Forever- The movie has it's merits and could be remembers like the 60s show but Tommy Lee Jones ruins the whole thing by not taking it remotely seriously.

Batman and Robin- Just awful. Poison Ivy is often noted as one of the better parts of the film, maybe because of Mr.Freeze and Bane, but in my opinion she was no better than either of them. Also George Clooney will never be Batman.

Great:

Batman Returns
Batman 89
Batman Begins

Good:

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
TDK
TDKR

Bad:
7. Batman Forever
8. Batman & Robin

1. The Dark Knight - 10/10
2. The Dark Knight Rises - 10/10
3. Batman 89 - 9/10
4. Batman Begins - 8/10
5. Batman Returns - 5/10
6. Batman Forever - 4/10
7. Batman & Robin - 3/10
8. Batman 66 - 2/10
