100000000000000000000000000/10!

the new trailer almost put me to sleep. the first one sent chills down my spine with william's score, this one seemed dull and melodramatic.

It's a good trailer, nothing spectacular though. The best SUPERMAN RETURNS trailer was still the teaser, and that was great because of non-SR elements (William's score and Brando's narration... too iconic for words). This trailer makes the movie look good and is overall a far more impressive trailer than the first theatrical trailer.

Brandon Routh just looks miscast, though - vocally and lookswise. He might fit the goofy Kent, but when he's in the suit and talking as Superman, he just doesn't connect. I'm hoping he proves me wrong in the film proper, but judging from the footage available, he just doesn't cut it.

   Well said.

I'm deeply dissapointed with the "new superman". He looks nothing like Reeve's, his voice sounds like BALE's - Batman Begins...he fakes it so bad. HE tries to sound all tough and hardcore when he is nothing more than a ***** cat!

The movie looks promising though.

Umm...huh? When he did he try to sound tough and hardcore?

Wasn't expecting to see you ever again.

The opening musical score sounded like it came out of JLU!

i gave it a 7

1) showed way too much
2) once AGAIN they're in the middle of the superman theme crescendo AND THEY CUT AWAY FROM IT, to the luthor line
3) had superman act emo-ish when he flew away from lois. what's worse, is that we know that's not how it plays out, but they way it was edited looked like he got all emo and flew away when she said her/they "moved on"
4) sorta like #1 but MONEY SHOTS. this gave out way too many. the K-missile, bullet to the eye (which would've been amazing to see in theaters , not in a trailer), and of course SUPERMAN GETTING STABBED

jesus WB we know you haven't marketed/hyped this moveie as much in the past months, but then you go and blow your load in the final trailer :( :down

The bullet to the eye shot really made this trailer... I didn´t like it that they used the campy Lex scene and Supes´"it´s not easy for me" speach again, but I think the trailer really picks up in the second half, when we see more Supes in action.

That argument is kinda vague, be more specific about why he "just doesn´t connect".

Yep, I gave it a one, a poor on the scale. Now let me explain this, the new footage rules, and some of the expanded scenes look really cool. There is no flow to it. Especially the begining which has very little music/or the music is to quiet to hear under the dialogue. Either way, this trailer was put together by a thousand monkeys. It's actually one of the most craptastic movie trailers I've seen come out in a long time.

Can't wait for teh movie, but man, these substandard, highschool film class slide show previews have got to stop

well i'm one of them :marv:

i gave it a 9 because it deserves a 9. believe it or not there are better trailers than this one. i was about to give it an 8 but i remembered that's what i gave the teaser, and certainly this piece was better than the last.

really dude, you can certainly learn a great deal by not getting carried away by your emotions

Same here, gave it a 9.

The movie on the other hand, will be a 10.

He's just kind of... well, flat. There's nothing particularly arresting about his Superman. Does he fit? I suppose so, but there's nothing extraordinary about him.

The biggest problem with Routh is that there's just no sense of commanding presence, either physically or vocally. And Superman should be commanding to an epic degree - he should be almost god-like, in that sense. Vocally he sounds weak (compare to Superman's voice in the TAS), and physically he just looks like some dude in a suit.

I want Superman to feel like a god just descended from Mt. Olympus and walks among mortals. Routh doesn't do that for me.

Physically Reeve wasn´t much more imposing than Routh, and he still delivered it. His voice sounds masculine but also gentle, which is something I think Supes should sound like.

Perfect reply. Why can't everybody be like this?

I think he had that feeling in the last scene of the trailer. And I'm hoping he'll come off commanding in the movie.

And I agree about how Superman should be. Check out my literary works link, you may find something you like. :)

But Reeves had a much more commanding voice, and a much more magnetic, mature presence. Routh lacks both the command and the maturity, I think. He really feels like he's Clark Kent who's eventually going to grow into the Superman mantle, rather than the fully matured and iconic Superman.

We'll see, though.

im sorry superfreak but that was the dumbiest post ive ever read in a long time.... seriously it was put together great and as far as people complianing they showed too much well we should all know that Singer doesnt give everything away im sure theres some HUGE PLOTS and scenes NO ONE KNOWS BOUT

I gave it an 8 (the money shot with the bullet to the eye and Supes' smirk bumped it up from a 7) and that was generous. The opening shot was great and then after that it wasn't anything special. This was almost the same trailer as the first. They used the same scenes but longer cuts of each scene this time. And they cut the Superman theme horribly...again. Why even use it?

The "Now Fly" is the first piece of dialogue I've heard from Spacey that I've liked. The "bring it on" and him hamming it up with Lois and the kid makes me sick. I'm still not sold on Spacey and now that I've heard more of Routh's voice I'm definitely not sold on him either. It's going to be hard for me to get used to emo-Superman.

I have to agree. The more I watch it the more I want to take the score back down to a 7 or 6. That money shot in the end made me forget everything else that came before but on repeat viewings this trailer just doesn't hold up.
