The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Rate the NEW ASM2 costume!!! - Part 1

I don't see why the seams would be edited out. Even though it's there for practical reasons, it's also a design choice. The ASM had seams going through the leg and around the crotch as well, much more noticeably too. Besides, we barely saw any full on crotch shots in the film, nor silver parts on the shoe.

I don't see why seams are even a complaint, shouldn't this suit functional in within the context of the film? Is it really that hard to imagine that there are seams on a suit made by a single person? Such a petty thing to expect to be edited out.

It makes it look like he's wearing trunks in some of these pictures

I like the seams on the crotch area

Works well with the symmetry imo

^ Sure. I see what you're saying.

I don't mind em nor do I think they'll be that much of a distraction.
Side note- I think the blue texture looks great.

It's clothing, not body paint, it's ok if it has seams.

Now that I think of it, even if the reds in the suit give off a "sheeny" vibe, it could look cool.
Check out this photo-

The red looks like a metallic-ish. You know? It could look really cool on screen.
But like I said, it's really hard to tell what it WILL come off as. Many photos make the suit look different.

My God!

Words cant describe how wonderful this suit looks!

A perfect 10

ok upon further review the only thing i don't lilike about this costume is the the way the gcrotch and lower waist area bends and wrinkles in certain poses. other than that i really do think this costume looks amazing.

spider-man looks better without to much muscle, gives him a more flexible look

in that picture it looks perfect

I love the costume!

but I do admit it has room for improvement (please don't beat me up! :oldrazz:)

The only thing I'd really change would be the webs. They're too shiny.

I feel like the webs make it its own though you know? And it's only shiny in the light. I've seen photos of it where it's pure black.

Raimi's suit was and still is great. When I was in 8th grade or so and saw it for the first time, I did not and still kind of don't like the eyes. But I got over that quickly. I liked the webbing pattern, it looks much better than a printed pattern would on the fabric, and I like how they catch the light to switch from silver and black. But I didn't like that all the action figures painted all the webs silver. Pre-teen Problems.

This new suit is pretty perfect. If there was anything I would say I did not like, would be the webbing on the belt, a little too cluttered compared to the way it was on the Raimi suit. And the webbing pattern is more rectangular, with right angles than actually webbed shaped.

And as much as I love this new costume, I don't like that it is closer to Raimi's than the one in the last movie. At the end of the day it doesn't matter because Raimi's and this suit are more comic accurate than the TASM suit, but I feel like now the series has sacrificed some of it's own continuity; bending to the will of disgruntled message board naysayers who complained about the last suit.

It is a shame it took 4 movies to get the lenses right, but better late than never!

And VenomSpawn you have the best sig and avatar in the history of internet forums.

I like the way Garfield's head shape looks in the suit it's better than the way Toby's looked in his suit. The eyes are great, i would still like some more of the black outlining around them, other than that they are an improvement.
I also like the texture of the TASM suit better than the others, it seemed durable and interesting. The old texture with this suit would be perfect for me.

Yeah I second that, the suit would look really nice with the materials from TASM. And would add some cohesion to the two different suits.

I believe AG had problems with the suit not only using the bathroom but something else im not sure, im sure it'll adressed at comic con

I posted this originally in the AG thread but it's actually more of a costume related matter:

Does anyone think maybe garfield should have or still could add some more muscle to his frame? It's just with the way so many of the super-hero actors are devoting themselves physically to their roles you'd think garfield could follow suit?

I know spider-man is always more wiry than buff but even in his skinnier incarnations he's always pretty ripped.

Garfield's spider-man has always seemed a little shapeless to me?

That skinny but "cut" look is pretty much as trademark a look of spider-man as superman's buff look is.

If you take a look at what they did for the MOS suit they were able to keep Cavill's muscle definition by simply having the costume material molded around his actual muscularity.

Now they could do the same for Garfield if he just bulked up a bit and use a similar process for the suit. He's naturally quite lean so it's unlikely he would ever become quite as bulky as cavill but he would at least have some definition added.
