The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Rate the NEW ASM2 costume!!! - Part 1

Seeing the new suit, I liked the shades of red and blue from the first movie. I also liked the fabric from the first one more for the blue portions. Something about it stood out more.

I agree, and agree with those who have already said that my preference would have been relatively minor updates to the TASM suit (new eye shields, added belt, possibly removing the leg stripes) rather than a complete overhaul.

However, I'll reserve ultimate judgment until I see footage and the movie, but that's what I would have preferred.

I like the new suit I think it's great I'm just hoping that it's explained because I can already see people complaining about it when it hits theaters

I'm pretty sure this has been brought up....but why is that spider so low??? It totally needs to be higher up, was there any reasoning for this?

It bugs the crap out of me because other than that, the costume is absolutely perfect......just that one little thing, uggghhhh it's almost worse than a bunch of things wrong with it, because you know if you just move that friggin spider up a few inches it'd be one of the most (if not THE most) comic-accurate costumes ever seen in a live action superhero movie.

Yeah, f**k me, the new suit looks perfect, colours-wise. They did it.

I am excited to see some footage from this movie. The pic of Spidey in his room and the image of Electro have done their job.

If only they had the big circular spider on the back and small black spider on the front... Other than that and the fact that the colors could be brighter and the webbing is still technically raised... It's perfect.

Fixed that for you. :yay:

Thanks! ^

With those adjustments made, it'd be the most perfect CBM costume adaptation to the big screen. Although it's very close already!

The new suit's grown on me a bit, but it would look so much better with TASM material/texture and colours IMO.

Also, the front spider could be moved a little higher up...to me that's the most obvious thing. And yeah, the circular spider on the back would be pretty cool too. Very minor gripes though, it really is a pretty awesome costume already as is, can't wait to see how it looks in action.

They said that a flat black web would be boring and that's why they had the raised webbing.

I've brought this up before but i honestly don't think a little more muscle shading or even some definition molding added to the suit would be a bad thing?

It just sits a little flat on Garfield and hides whatever definition he has. Spider-Man's not jacked but you can always tell he's pretty cut with his suit on. To me that's my only issue with the suit.

I actually don't mind the Spider on the back, I think its a good thing to carry over to this suit, to show that some of the 1st suit designs are in this.

i think old suit wouldn't work too good in sequel. Majority of Spiderman scenes in ASM2 seems to be during day, and original suit looked so much better during night scenes. Someone posted here ASM suit during day and he looked ok, but maybe just too bright (colors) as material during reflection looked bit weird (at least for me)? So i can see another reason why they changed suit. I think ASM suit was made specially for that kind of movie where details and colorness must stand off during scene where background is in dark. Lizard also looked much better in night then in day (school scene).

Same is going for reverse way. I dont think ASM2 suit would work good in ASM movie (for same reason material/texture and color). :cwink:

Well, police where after spidey so its obvious it has to "hang low" for a while!!!

:oldrazz:

It looks incredible, but the TASM suit has something which makes it more special.

The new image of Spidey in the web shooting pose is pretty much perfect.

I thought the top region of the original suit was pretty good. I felt that they did too much on the bottom half, however.

Design of current suit with colors and material of the TASM suit would be perfect t IMO. Never liked the raised webbing.

I'd give the costume a 9.5. What stops it from being a perfect 10 is that the belt is too fat. It kinda clashes with the thinness of the middle region.

Love what they did with the spider symbol on the back and the front. It's a reminder of the first costume, while still looking like the costume in the comics.

^^ I disagree, kinda. from the middle the belt is the right thickness, but from the sides it should be slightly warped to thinner size. that would really compliment Andrew's sleek body type and make the costume look more aero-dynamic. Still, this is a minor complaint and the costume is otherwise so perfect that I don't care

That sucks, mostly because the problem with raised webbing is that it looks..off to me. After seeing the first official glimpse at the suit, I was contemplating whether the webbing was actually silver/white again, or dark grey. It just doesn't really look black to me, despite it being that.

I would've loved to see the flat black web, with the colors of the first suit. I honestly think that would've been THE best Spider-Man suit, in my opinion of course. :)
