Yea i dont think gwen is ugly she is normal/smart looking but everyone has opinion on things. Also i do think they might have them date a little while later, she did seem a little jeasouly at liz during the lab scene. As for betty she did look pretty young looking but hard to tell with the animation since it is less detail and smooth and older people like may, ben in pic and toomes dont have winkles. But i am guessing early to mid 20s for betty.

I'd give it an 8.5 if possible. Exceeded my expectations for "kid's" animated t.v. show on a frequent basis, especially when a surprisingly fluid fight scene broke out or huge set pieces were used (i.e.; Electro fight from radio tower to swimming pool). Not to mention cool little touches like electro setting off car alarms as he walks down the street, or even the background music which was pretty good. Although my perceptions were a little marred from youtube format, I'm definitely going to catch it on the real tube next week.

I thought Josh Keaton's voicework was great! His lines and delivery actually made me laugh a few times; Spidey sounds cool and witty, I love it. Great casting choice, really holds the show together and makes you care about the character.

Also, I'm really digging the 60's spider-face fading in on the sky at the end of each episode.

The show was great. It felt like the 60's comic come to life, and I know it's only going to get better. The action was great and the drama was great. Spider-Man's quickness (outside of the enforcers fight), jumping, agility and web slinging is something to behold when watching this.

I loved when Peter's confrontation with Sally Avril, pretty much sums up the Parker Luck!:woot:

The battle with Fancy Dan and Ox is easily the best fight scene in any Spidey cartoon, just so fast paced and choreographed perfectly. The final battle with Electro was very exciting. I think now that it is best to not do direct adaptations of the comics because you would know what would happen, this is much better. And judging by what Victor Cook is saying we'll be getting alot more awesome fight sequences.

Were we watching the same fight scene? My excitement dropped the second I saw Ox man handling Spider-Man. Wait, since when can a regular human being almost squeeze the life out of someone whose almost 100 times stronger? This feels like the 90's series all over again in the power department. And don't give me that he's 16 and inexperienced crap. Even with that factored in, their strength shouldn't even be ANYWHERE close. And if that wasn't bad enough, they had OX tear the web like it was paper. Again, a regular human being treating 6X the strength of steel like that?

Then after that, they had fancy Dan going toe to toe with Spider-Man in a fist fight? The choreography was great.....if Spider-Man wasn't super powered. Not only was Dan as fast as Spider-Man, but then Spider-Man threw a punch and missed? Okay.......I guess the writers missed the part where Spider-Man has 16X the reflexes of a human, and again, even with the age and inexperience factored in, it shouldn't be close....at all.

Nah, I'd put her around 18 along with Eddie. Remember she was interested in Parker in the comics. They aren't going to have someone that old looking at a 16 yr old.

I'm afraid I didnt make it past the first six minutes. The animation is just terrible.
Why is it with such increasingly realistic, smoother and faster animation technology and techniques every marvel cartoon that comes out is one more step closer to powerpuff girls style figures and simplisity than the last?
I mean, what on earth is up with the eyes? And they dont even bother with rendering anymore. Its just a flat drawing of spidey in a single luminous red colour with a slightly less saturated red to represent large chunks of shadow. Its not even cut and grad. No matter how spot on voices are, or how many classic characters they include in these things, I just cant get on board when they go lazy on the fundamentals.

The 2003 He-Man cartoon, now that was pretty good animation for today. Bit over exaggerated, but even I dont think the excellent realism of the old GIJOE cartoon (I spose more so GIJOE the movie) would fit with todays audience.

I'm happy to say that I love this series. So far I've only watched the first episode (I'm downloading the second now :D), and this show has all the action, character and it is really hilarious. Peter is pretty spotted on, he's still got his usual bad luck, and his Spider-Man persona is just funny. His jokes really make me laugh

Other characters are ok, but Norman Osborn gets the right treatment. I already hate him now. Gwen is cute

The animation and fight are pretty good. The enforcers fight is kinda weird since Spidey should take them with not much problem, but I guess it's just to make us excited.

Let's hope this show will become even better!!!

9 out of 10

Glad so many people liked it!

7 people-not a big fan of it

55 people- Thought it was good-Incredible.

Glad a lot of people will be tuning in this week.

I gave it a 7. It was alright, but didnt really amaze me. Im glad they skipped the origin story as thats been done a thousand times

Awesome show! I'm looking forward to watch the Lizard one!

So far, a 10 out of 10 from me. I didn't think I'd enjoy The Spectacular Spider-Man as much as I did before I watched it but it sure did surprise me. I think this may be the best Spider-Man cartoon to date. I haven't found anything I didn't like about it either, though I didn't watch this show trying to find flaws but rather tried to simply enjoy it.

The Spectacular Spider-Man has also revived my interest in cartoons again and restored my faith in modern age cartoons as well. I will be picking up this series once it's released on DVD :word:.

Same here. :spidey:

Okay, I just finished viewing Survival of the Fittest and Interactions! On a scale of 1-10, I voted a 9. I absolutely loved the premiere, truly wonderful! The animation was smooth, I liked the art design. The voice acting I felt was superb, the music was fantastic. I thought all the characters were done well.

I think I can say I was pleasantly surprised, I also liked all the nod's towards the comics, and even the movies! I think I'm going to keep up with this new series, and I can't wait for the next episode.

:applaud

Yeah, is it just me or are Flash and his ilk WAY too prejudiced against nerds? (Except that Rand guy, he was cooler than the other side of the pillow) Real bullies would probably led him on to believe that Sally was interested and pull the metaphorical rug out from under him. Flash talks to peter the way a neo-nazi might to a Jew. Though considering the cornball nature of the "We're all nerde and you can be too." scene, it's not THAT surprising. ^_^

I wonder if Gwen grew up ugly or something? She dresses in sweats and constantly hugs that textbook in front of her; classic body language for insecurity/vulnerability.

Here here. And so soon after Transformers animated nearly wiped it out.

I gave it a 7. It was alright, but didnt really amaze me. Im glad they skipped the origin story as thats been done a thousand times

Really, what superhero cartoon adaptation in recent memory has an origin story pilot? Last one I can recall is Superman. And possibly X-Men Evolution but that's debatable.

I couldn't agree more.

10 - Incredible. So worth the wait.

I felt like I was watching a Lee/Ditko comic book in motion.

I liked this show. The only one negative thing I have to say about the show is Liz. I don't mind that she's been revamped into a Latina. but does she really need the horrible accent? Really? It's ok for her to have an accent but not such a strong one.

That's the only thing that bugged me. Everything else was great. The writers are laying down the foundation for great character development and amazing stories in the future.

Can't wait for that Parker "Luck" to kick in.

And Joey 1 can no way touch this so it's immediately better than anything the comics have right know.

Love the show. Great to see Gwen before MJ, great to see Stan Lee elements like the Enforcers and the Big Man, great to see Spider-Man start out in high school, and an actual progression episode to episode. Although the art looks like Dora the Explorer, the writing is top notch. Sticking really close to the comics so far, and I like that.

Yeah, that was my only real complaint. The character designs are pretty lame.

But I can let that slide when the fight animation is as fluid as it is, and the tone being so on point.

Yeah, the fights were pretty good. The art though is killing me, I don't get it. Cartoon art these days is so crappy. It doesn't make sense when we have the technology to put out shows as nicely done as The Boondocks, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Cowboy Bebop on a regular basis. Thankfully Wolverine and the X-Men has art that rocks my socks off.

yeah this was awful
tv animation, at least for kids cartoons, are getting worse and worse

I don't feel like reading 6 pages at the moment so I'll just say that I just saw the first episode on YouTube and it was good...I guess. The only problem I have with it is that Peter is too happy and things aren't really that bad in his life. If I'm not mistaken aren't things supposed to get worse for him when he becomes Spider-Man? I know it was the first episode but...how about when he arrives late to Connor's lab? How come no one said, "dude you're late! Don't let it happen again." Everyone seemed fine with him being late.

I rated it a 9 out of 10, and it bodes well that 60% rated it at least an 8 or higher.

How? The animation is less detailed, but still looks great and is fast paced. When you have something like that, I don't see how people can't be satisfied. It's your opinion though and I respect it.

Men- Circle shaped eyes (except for Norman)
Women- Rhombus shaped eyes.
