We'll be watching!:woot:

I'm at about 7.0-7.5 out of 10. I love the original. It's not as tight or focused as the original. The first half is very rough. It's fun and enjoyable if you are a fan of the movies and the character.

Some cool new characters, but Cable felt like a waste.

Pretty similar to the above for me. There's a lot of fun to be had but the first half of the first film is a lot better than the first half of this one, although I like the way this one ends. The new characters will hopefully come into their own in a future film. It's the Deadpool you know and love but I expected just a little bit more. B 7/10.

I got pretty much what I expected with this so I'm satisfied. It's a lot of fun and has much more expensive looking action than the first. It doesn't have as tight of a narrative as the first, but it probably won't feel as small as the first did after the first viewing either.

My favorite part was probably
seeing Juggernaut finally being done well (except for that he wasn't unstoppable when moving). I want to see a lot more of him in the future, but I doubt that will happen.

3.5/5 - 78%

"Reese, Wernick, and Reynolds has proven once again that they know this beloved character in and out so much that they never seem to lose focus of his stories being HIS stories. Besides capturing the superhero and humorous aspects of him, they maintain Wade’s humanity by displaying his emotional side. Just like its predecessor, this is another character story that displays the depth of Deadpool in ways we’ve never witnessed before."

Ok, so having thought about it here are my thoughts. This falls squarely inline with the last movie for me. It suffers from the similar issues as the last movie in terms of humour and pacing, but like the last one there is real heart to the movie. I would go so far to say that underneath the fourth wall breaking, the excessive violence, profanity and humour is a series that might have the biggest heart out of any superhero franchise. Deadpool shows that personal stakes matter. It's not how big the explosions are, how evil the bad guy is, how big of a threat the world is under, it's not even about how good the good guy is, sometimes it's just about saving one person that means something to the hero.

The film feels a little more unpolished compared to the original. The slickness and energy is present but it doesn't feel quite as tidy this time around. It's hard to say if that's down to a change in director or whether it's just because I'm use to how Deadpool is now. The answer probably lies somewhere in the middle. Like the last movie not all the jokes work, but strangely enough the film didn't feel as self aware as the last one, to the extend where you could probably have cut out all the fourth wall stuff and not have it affect the movie.

The films does a lot to subvert expectations. This really does feel unique in the superhero genre in that it's not about stopping someone, it's about saving someone, and this is where the heart of the movie lies. It's hard to go into detail without giving away spoilers, especially early on which sets the course for the movie, but this film actually makes a lot of bold choices that I didn't see coming. Most of it works, some I left a little unsure about.

The cast is great again. Reynolds is as good as he was last time. Josh Brolin is great a Cable but I can't help but feel the character was undercooked a lot, it felt like there was much more emphasis placed on how cool he was than there was fleshing him out. Colossus has a far more important roll in this film than I thought trying to be something of a mentor to Deadpool and lead him on a better path. Zazzie Beetz as Domino is probably the highlight. She doesn't steal the movie per se but she has a confident, sassy, sexiness to her along with the most interesting and unique power set on film.

The action sequence are fun but not overly spectacular. It's very reminiscent of Kill Bill in parts early on, and there's a lot of creative use of music during the fight sequences, although probably not as good as the last film. Any action scene with Domino in it is fun to watch because her powers make her look like a complete bad ass. The CG effects are not exactly groundbreaking, Colossus still looks cheap and dated, although Cable looks awesome. Some real belly laughing moments happen with CG though, so it makes up for any issues on a technical level.

Overall, Deadpool 2 stands pretty comfortably next to its predecessor. If you had issues with the last movie you probably won't like this much more. But if you did this compliments the first movie nicely, and would make for a fun double feature night at home.

A decent but not spectacular 7/10.

Ok. Just walked out of my screening. It was fun. The action is very well choreographed but that is the only thing that was better in this movie compared to the first one for me. The CGI looked pretty weak especially on one fully CGI character and DP's eyes, especially in the 3rd act looked weird and "2-dimensional" in certain shots. The humour is there but the timing is a bit off for me this time. Maybe the it was the novelty of the first film? I don't know. Some jokes didn't land at all with my screening. I heard laughter only 4-5 time until the final scenes were people actually started laughing.
I didn't like the score with one notable exception (You 'll know it when you hear it) but the songs are great as expected.
Oh and it has maybe the best mid credits scene ever ;). All and all pretty enjoyable but not as good as the first one.

I thought it was really excellent.

Story was a little scrappy but the characters and 90% of the jokes all landed for me. My screening was loving it (and this is a huge surprise for me because us Brits are normally so reserved).

Highlights for me are Zazie's Domino and Colossus. 8.5/10

8.5/10

In line with the first one for me. Was fun, action packed, great characters (each character has a moment to really shine), fun story. It was full of humor that was perfect and landed great. My cinema loved it. I agree that the cgi looked a bit choppy in some bits but overall it wasn’t super noticeable. The editing was on point. It’s what you expect from Deadpool. I want more and I hope the vibe continues on and builds on more of the characters.

Cable, Domino were perfectly cast. Zazie was really amazing and I wish there was more but again she had her own moment to shine which was fantastic. Brolin was amazing as Cable also. The banter between him and Ryan was on point. Cable, Domino and Deadpool are a percfect trio to build X-Force behind.

I'd say an 8-8.5/10 as well. About on par with the first one I think. The end credits alone tho was worth the price of admission!

I'd say a pretty fair review.

Perhaps this feels a bit unpolished compared to the first one because they had 6 years to fine tune the screenplay. I remember reading a draft of the first film in 2010 I think it was.

8/10. All the elements are there but not as great as the first one. Still 1000 miles away better than Green Lantern tho.

So I saw Deadpool 2. It's hilarious. Probably just as good as the first. I'm torn. I like the scale and scope more, and I think it has more "gags" that land, but the first had a real charm due to the unexpected love story between Wade and Vanessa really working and feeling intimate. This one doesn't have that although its third act still kicks us in the feels.

It is probably the most "comic book" feeling X-Men movie ever made while still being refreshingly its own thing. As I said elsewhere, it feels like it sprang from Ryan Reynolds' personality. If you like it that's great, if you don't, you won't. But it is a full-tilt comic book extravaganza through that prism, which makes it unique.

Also it leans heavy into referencing and incorporating X-Men as a concept and characters and mythology into the film. While I do think Wade has the ability to jump "universes" if need be, this isn't shy that it's part of the X-universe, for all those thinking it was cutting ties to the Fox films.

Its fourth-wall breaking is fun, but what I like best is how Deadpool plays off the X-Force. And Zadie as Domino is a real winner. Here is hoping we get that X-Force movie that lets her and Cable shine more before the MCU reboot.

[blackout]And my boy, Pete! Peter is a Sugar Bear, dammit! He may not be a mutant, but he's all hero. X-Force! X-Force!!!![/blackout]

8/10

Really well said... actually better said than I think any review I've seen. While I think I liked it a smidge more than you, you sum up why I think this movie and the first one click for me. Some people won't get by the smarminess of Ryan Reynolds (I enjoy it), but beyond that there is a real sense of pathos to these movies that is unlike most superhero films.

This flick was awesome. Loved how brutal it got in addition to still having a lot of heart.

I was smiling the whole time. Nothing can replace seeing Deadpool on screen portrayed correctly for the first time but this is close to a 9 for me.

God holy **** I loved this thing.

Like, more than I expected to, and that's from someone who had a blast with the first one. The jokes don't feel tired & forced a second time around like I was skeptical of, and it's actually a whole lot more substantive & heartfelt than the first.

They're very different movies of course, but on a pure enjoyment level this was right with Infinity War for me.

Meh, was alright, I didn't find it was as good as the original, which I actually anticipated because the 1st exceeded expectations across the board. First half of the film is quite rough & it takes things a while to really get moving. One of the things that made the original Deadpool so good was that it was a simple plot that was laser focused & while Deadpool 2 is somewhat more of the same, things aren't as well focused & that's largely because everything is on a bigger scale.. too big in my opinion.

Not quite as funny either as the original either, particularly the first half of the film which seemed to go through quite long periods without very many 4th wall breaks or witty comments. Still amusing overall once the movie starts to pick up more & more 4th wall breaks/witty comments seem to come much more quicker & funnier.

Reynolds was fantastic overall again, there are only a handful of actors/actresses in superhero movies that you could make an argument for being perfectly cast & he's certainly one of them.

Brolin was meh, had his badass & tough moments, but the character was somewhat wasted overall. My main source of what I feel Cable should be like was from the X-Men animated series which was *gulp* near 30 years ago & I remember him being a lot better of a character.

Zazie Beetz as Domino was a standout for me, really liked how her power was shown to work in addition to her & Deadpool's interaction(s) with one another was the best in the film IMO.

Overall, 7/10, not as good as the original but it's still worth a watch if you liked the first.

I like it better than the original. What I appreciated much more than the first is that there is a healthy mix of drama, action, levity and 4th wall breaking. Neither facet is overdone to the point of oversaturation, the film maintains a healthy dose of each and it keeps the plot moving at a good pace. Some of the dramatic stuff is actually pretty deep.
The action scenes are certainly a step up, the hand to hand combat is awesome in terms of sound effects and cinematography.

I also think Deadpool 2 is very good Xmen movie. One of the Xmens strongest theme from the comics has always been about family, and Deadpool 2 by the end really emphasises that point quite poetically.

I do have a few nitpicky negatives, most which are spoilery so il avoid. In general some of the CGI could have been done better, some of the original characters could have had more screen time and some of the fight sequences at the end could have been longer.

Overall an 8.5/10

I enjoyed it alot, def my 2nd fav comic movie this year behind Infinty, the Action was great and the jokes had the room cracking. The CGI was bad at some parts tho.

Hope to see more of Domino in the future and Nega sonica and her girlfriend and Cable :D

This sequel bring some teachable moments on the table, but not too much, so the core of the movie is still very Deadpool-esque. The humor is similar to that of the first, with couple more pop culture jokes which might be a problem for some viewers, but for the most part they are easily understandable with the basic knowledge of pop culture. Along with well known original cast, we have couple of newcomers who fit in the cast perfectly. Brolin has a lot of screen-time and he delivers in each scene. It features very entertaining references and cameos, and has one of the funniest post credits scenes in superhero movies, so be sure to stick around until the very end. All in all, #Deadpool2 Lives Up To The Hype!!!

Is not perfect but I didn't go to find perfection. I went to be entertained. And on that level the film does what it aims to do, it's so damn fun and entertaining.
Is like The Naked Gun of superhero movies and that is just aces for me and all the stuff they manage to do just to get a laugh.
It's a 8/10 for me. They can keep making these, there's so many things to be done with the character and the universe.

No poll?

Not as good as the first one, something about it just didn't land as well for me.

7-7.5/10.

Fun, entertaining movie and Domino is flippin' awesome.

Just got home from seeing Deadpool 2.

I re-watched the first one right before leaving the theater to see this, and so I think I can comfortably say that I prefer the first movie. I felt like the plot and the pacing were much more focused in the first movie ... And I think it has a bit more heart than this film does, too.

However ... I thought this movie was overall hilarious and a lot of fun.

This movie managed to surprise me a LOT with a certain character that makes an appearance in this film, which is refreshing because you'd think the movie studio would have forced this character to be in all of the trailers.

And I completely lost it when the Logan score started playing at the end. Amazing. :funny:
