The young STUD WIDE OUT Dez Bryant is going to be the best WR next year! That DYNAMIC Dallas D with the DOMINANT Demarcus Ware will rule all!

YES! Once Dez Bryant is able to play a full game without getting fatigued or tired or falling asleep or cutting out early to go catch a rerun of Two & a Half Men, he's going to be THE NEXT MICHAEL IRVIN! He even keeps a pair of scissors in his locker to accentuate that fact!

Again, in think this past year, with how much of the offense he had to carry, gave him a big boost. In that respect, there's probably a bit of an 'incumbent' edge after winning the SB coming in. But the fact remains that he proved himself to be a top-tier winning QB this year, no running game, more 4 qtr td's than anyone, and playoff wins on the road in which he played outstandingly. Be it him or Ben, they're definitely both in that top 6....there's no way Eli isn't in there anymore.

Nell,

Last year, the Giants defense was horrible for the first 13 games because of injures. They came together at the end of the year.

Also, their run offense was equally terrible. Again towards the end of the year, they improved.

So how with a bad defense and bad running offense, did they keep their heads above water? It was Eli, who broke the season 4th quarter TD record, who threw for almost 5,000 yards, who cut down on the amount of INTs.

Then when the team came together at the end, he broke the record for most yards in a single post season.

I don't think other than Giants fans, did Eli earned respect because of 2007. Now with 2011, it's almost given begrudgingly.

It's funny with Eli, Roethlisberger and Rivers, there doesn't seem to be as much comparison. ESPN, NFL.com tend to compare Eli with Romo instead.

I would agree that Eli is top 6, and he should be compared to Ben, not Rivers or Romo, but I personally have to give the edge between Ben and Eli to Ben.

Eli isn't a scrub, but he doesn't leap out to me as the same kind of elite QB that the media so desperately want to make him out to be. He's definitely not in the Peyton, Brady, Brees, Rodgers category, but he is definitely better than the Rivers, Romo, Cutler, Ryan, Stafford, Shaub category.

The debate is really between Eli and Ben, and between the 2, any case that can be made for Eli I believe can be made for Ben as well. Take out Ben faceplanting into a tree and boinking drunk college girls in bathroom stalls, and I don't know if people are forgetting about his on field accomplishments quite so much. He has just as many rings as Eli, one more appearance, is more consistently in the post season, and without looking, and I could be totally wrong on this, but I believe he has a much higher win percentage also.

And there's no comparison. ;)

You mean the same media that so profusely laughed at the comparison at the beginning of the season? Eli has earned his place solely by his play, not by fulfilling or not fulfilling a need or image manufactured by the press.

Like I said, their places are more interchangeable now, but Eli gets the current slight edge for recent accomplishments. The point being that he's not vastly below that top 5 anymore, and if he or Ben place behind the other, it's close enough not to take much to change....and it says a lot for Eli to be so certainly amongst those ranks when before it was questionable at best.

Ridiculous. No one deserves that kind of cash.

It's absurd what we pay our athletes. I'm so glad there is a salary cap in the NFL to keep this in check a little.

People are still going to support the Saints, wear his jersey, sing tales of his legend, ect... instead of protest the absurdity of this and the handicapping of the rest of the team and so the salary trends will continue.

Well, just like any sport...or even with big-time movie stars...are they getting paid for their actual work/hours, or how much they actually attract to their franchise's revenue? If any of is us were in the same position, would we refuse what they seek?

Exactly this.

They deserve that kind of money, because they generate all kinds of revenue for their franchises. It's not absurd what athletes get paid.

It's only absurd when they whine about it.

Its our society today, I mean the ticket prices we adhere too on sundays and save some of us all summer for is where this money is coming from. People have problems with the money they make but yet see no problem with plunking $300 for 2 tickets. I have no problem with these athletes getting the cash but I do have a bigger problem with getting set back financially for 2 game tickets to the ravens once or twice a season. I think its time the NFL really looks at the cost of the games because there are alienating more and more the averages joes who spend the most money on jerseys and merchandise but cant afford to go to games.

the NFL likely doesnt even really care about who goes to games anymore as they make such an insane amount of money on TV and merchandise. Gate receipts are such an ancillary part of their revenue stream at this point.

Not to mention, you can get NFL Sunday Ticket for a season for about what it would cost your family to attend 1 NFL game at this point.

I really wish they would openthe sunday ticket to other providers at this point, kind of a monopoly on directv's side.

I have Cablevision/Optimum Online. I also live in the NY area so I catch all the games I want.

If there was a way I could get Direct TV, and my internet for about $126 a month, I'd do it.

Right now, I don't think that's possible.

Yeah, I'm very happy with watching games at home. Direct TV is a little out of my price range, Uverse and Redzone keep me happy. I haven't been to an actual game in years.

I'd be all over Sunday Ticket if they ran it through Cox cable. Direct TV is crap.

Marshawn Lynch was arrested for DUI, and apparently the penalty by the NFL is going to be harsh. But hey, look at the bright side; he didn't run anyone over this time.

So, sorry Seahawks fans. In addition to having an idiot for a coach, a starting quarterback who has played all of two games, a receiver who can't catch unless Favre is throwing to him, the ugliest uniforms in the league and the distinction of being the only team in NFL history to make the playoffs with a losing record due to being in the worst division, you now lost the only shot in hell you ever had at getting above .500.

I wonder if the "12th Man" will still factor in after you post a few more sh**ty seasons and you'll be lucky to pack 12 people into the entire stadium.

When pulled over, Lynch tried to bribe the arresting officer with 6 bags of Sour Skittles.

I had Sunday Ticket for a while, but soon realized I don't care about other teams enough to see what they're doing. Highlights at halftime are good enough for me.

What the....that doesn't even take into account....

I can't.

The Best Quarterback in the League Weighs in on Brees, Rice Deals

By Jake Griffin, Baltimore Bugle

Following several massive deals awarded to marquis NFL players, disgruntled Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco has sounded off about his own unresolved contract situation. Flacco, who legally changed his name last month to The Best Quarterback in the League, still has one year left on his rookie deal. The Ravens apparently feel there is no rush to extend the quarterback, and instead decided to work out a new deal with star runningback Ray Rice prior to Monday's franchise tag deadline.

The Best Quarterback told the Baltimore Bugle that he is "livid" about the Ravens not bothering to work out a new deal for him that, at the very least, is up to par with that of Drew Brees' five-year, $100 million contract. He also threw out some interesting speculation about the New Orleans star QB. "Can you believe that?" Mr. Quarterback exclaimed. "Yeah, he's a great QB, but let's be realistic here. He lost a playoff game to a losing team. He lost another one to Alex 'The Weakest Link' Smith. And he put bounties out on players; everyone knows that. Gregg Williams was just a f***ing scapegoat. Everyone knows Brees runs that team like he's John Gotti. I even heard he killed a couple of guys when he was in San Diego, but the league just sweeps that kind of stuff under the rug if you’re one of their golden boys."

Still, a Super Bowl win and breaking Dan Marino's passing record has to count for something right? "I don't give two sh**ts about style points," The Best Quarterback said. "The only reason he won that Super Bowl is because Peyton Manning chokes in big games that don't involve Rex Grossman. And Marino's record? Pfft. Let's see Brees win a playoff game when he completes four passes for 34 yards. That sh** ain't easy, and I would know! And then let's see how Brees handles it when... a couple seasons later... he outplays the overrated Tom Brady for an entire game, only to have his piece of sh** receiver drop a surefire touchdown pass, and then watch his inbred a**hole kicker miss a 10-yard chip shot! If Brees was surrounded by these kinds of incompetent morons, I guarantee you; he wouldn't have a Super Bowl ring!"

The Best Quarterback was equally hard on teammate Ray Rice. "Yeah, people love to say Ray is the real star of our team," he said. "But who do you think is handing the ball to him on every other play, huh? Who do you think is the one making all of those three-yard checkdown passes to him? THIS guy. And you know what else? I led our team to the AFC Championship Game when I was a rookie! Ray was on our team back then, but he was warming the f***ing bench. I had to make do with scrubs like Willis McGahee and L'Ronald McDonald. I was so good in that game that the Steeler defense had to focus ENTIRELY on me! They had to intercept me three times and stuff me on the goal line on a fourth down just to beat us! If they had been focusing on other players like they were supposed to, I'd SO be wearing a ring right now. F***ing Pittsburgh."

But despite his misgivings, the most that The Best Quarterback in the League can do right now is play his best in the 2012-2013 season and hope for an extension. But he is confident that good things are just around the corner. "I'm going to win the Lombardi this year for Baltimore," said Mr. Quarterback. "It WILL happen. Then, they'll have to sign me to a huge deal. Seriously, what a team wouldn’t renew their quarterback's contract after he wins a Super Bowl?”
