Sequels Reboot after First Class? Should they?

How can you do an X4 when you called X3 the Last Stand? An X4 even with Bryan Singer would make 3 look even more ridiculous. Plus Cyclops and Jean are dead... 2 important characters that should probably be involved with X4, otherwise we're just gunna see ANOTHER Hugh Jackman movie. I am a Wolverine fan, but he isn't the ONLY member of the X-Men

simple be set several years after X2

Jean Isn't going to be In X4.This won't be the Bryan Singer version of Dark Phoenix.
Ignoring Last Stand allows you to bring back Cyclops.

i just got the opportunity to read the x men 1991 series of comics.

and while i like x men 1-3 and First Class, the filmmakers turned x men into something that is the opposite of what it was intended to be. and that is a fantastic sci fi action adventure. not a movie series that is a social commentary.

after x men first class and wolverine 2 is over.

i think the fact that marvel is starting to take over the comic movie industry with better adaptations (captain america and thor) and the fact that the original trilogy , wolverine and first class are really POOR adaptations.

The Spiderman reboots and Nolan version of Batman are proof that reboots can work.

and since jackman can't play wolverine forever, i think fox should reboot x men after they're done with first class and wolverine.

Yeah, i mean, they've gotta reboot it eventually. hopefully starting with a movie titled X-men First Class that actually shows the First class not some ****** ass remake of random mutants. I have no intention of seeing that film.

I agree that Jackman can't play Wolverine forever but i hope we get as much as we can out of him. However i hope we get more of the "I go wherever I wanna go..." Wolverine and not the "We stand together...X-Men" cause he's not Cyclops. Speaking of Cyclops in the said reboot they better not kill him off like that that was F***ing ******ed.

Hope there could be some reboot-ish. Do an X 4 with some new characters such as Physlocke, Cannonball, Quick Silver.

But with the great cast of First Class more the newcomers that could appear in the next two sequels, we can finally have an epic trilogy this time.

There are many things they can do with this cast and characters, until the introduction of Scott, Jean and Ororo, so Im ALL for it.

Agree with alot of that. Not saying the original trilogy was bad. I'd just like to see another interpretation. And making a good X4 would be difficult because X3 was made to be a conclusion.

There are a lot of improvements to the X-Men franchise that can be made via a reboot. Adding time traveling characters, whose stories rely on an already audience familiar universe, isn't one of them (in my opinion).

Same here, while after x-3 the franchise was in conflict because as can be seen with wolverine, now that Bryan singer took control over the series again and that The Wolverine seems like it's going to be a great movie i don't want them to reboot it.
They have x-4 and 5, 2 First class sequels, The Wolverine and Deadpool movie, all of them with more potencial of success than failure.
Please FOX, continue like that.

My guess is they liked it because it was a good film, and because most people don't hold a grudge about it using a familiar name. It was clear from the start that the film wasn't going to be a reboot and the original comic line-up would not be used, so those wrong assumptions you had are on you.

The comic book movie industry is slowly dying out, it had 10 good years but now its not what people want to see on the big screen, the only two properties people are still interested is the new style X-Men First Class, which is borderline a James Bond film with mutant powers. And Chris Nolans Batman series, which is still coming to an end. you could also argue Iron Man is a potential vain for superhero movies but even his second movie wasnt that great.

If you reboot the franchise now, it wont do so great. However i feel that they should ditch The Wolverine movie in favour of focusing on the First Class trilogy and make that a success instead of watering down the franchise with spin offs that wont be successful. However dont get me wrong i would like to see Wolverine in Japan against the silver samuri but really Fox made the series a succcess nobody knows if this will work for x-men if marvel take it over. Yeah they could potentially make it in line with the comics but will it be successful, possibly not with the enviroment at the moment.

First Class was never intended as a reboot. It was and always supposed to be a prequel which was done quiet well.

why are people a stickler for the comic books, its not the same universe. In the movie universe Beast was one of the original members, jean and scott came later as did storm. its just how it is in the movies.

i don't want a reboot of this...simply because it's not needed! for all i care, they can ignore the characters used in the first 3 movies, and use others, there are like 50 more cool x-men we haven't seen.

Don't get me wrong, i would have liked a reboot where Angel was a part of the original team, Bobby was a fun guy, and cyclops wasn't a dumbass whiny useless character.

But if that were to happen, i would have wanted it in x-men first class. They could have used the original team.

And since x-men first class is some sort of reboot, i'm fine with things staying the way they are.

All in all, do a reboot with the original team and don't change anything, or continue with x-men 4 with cyclops back leading a new team.

And screw Halle Berry, she sucked.

You can do that when the supposed last stand ended with a cliffhanger, wait, not one, but 2 cliffhanger, one where Magneto regains his powers and the cure's effect disappears, and even another one after the credits where professor xavier's mind survived.

First Class was a good movie, marred by a questionable roster. I thought it was a great movie, but a less so X-Men movie.

They missed a golden opportunity to go ahead and reboot the whole thing with First Class. That way it could have been the actual "first class" and started out on very solid footing. Jackmans only got one more movie left in him most likely anyway (which is why they are avoiding rebooting IMO).

They painted themselves in a corner with the questionable moves in the last few films, especially with the rosters and timelines.

We are still waiting to see If X4 goes beyond talk.It defently appears a sequel to first
Class Is coming.As I have said I only care about mostly keeping X-Men and X2 In Contunity.

I am mostly against reboots.Did the Incredible Hulk really do the Hulk much good.I supported that,and I consider that the best marvel studios film.I oppossed the bond reboot.I don't like the Superman reboot.And I am against another Batman reboot after the Dark Knight rises.

I like Idea of X-men being longest running comic book film series.Remember james bond went 40 years before pulling the unneccsary reboot card.

i dont want to see singer involved in any x-men projects. i like what vaugn did. at least he thinks big and knows how to make some good action sequences.
