Denzel Washington as Charles Xavier. Xavier would be much less of a focus in my version, so they can go for an A-list actor. I'm imagining Xavier as someone who grew up amidst the civil rights movement of the 60s. In my version, Xavier and Magneto would not be contemporaries, instead Xavier would look up to the older Magneto. I'd also like to see them explore the more morally ambiguous sides of Xavier's character.
Viggo Mortenson as Magneto. Again, Magneto would be much less of a focus than he was in the Fox films, so they can go for a big name. Also I personally am massively against the idea of removing the Holocaust from Magneto's backstory. Yes there are other historical genocides they could use, but to me it just wouldn't be the same. There are numerous plot devices they could use to explain his lack of ageing. Suspended animation, mutant experiments, quantum shenanigans etc. In my version, Magneto would be a violent revolutionary figure in the 60s who took a young Charles under his wing before their falling out. Instead of being close friends, Magneto would be more of a father figure to Charles. Have him disappear for decades and resurface in the modern day.
My pick for Cyclops would be George Mackay.
Cynthia Erivo as Storm. Loved her in Bad Times at the El Royale, and I like the idea of Storm being a more mature adult compared to the teens/young adults of the rest of the team.
Zoey Deutch as Jean Grey. She's great in pretty much everything.
Milo Gibson as Wolverine. Honestly I haven't seen him act in anything but he looks the part and I like the meta casting of Mel Gibson's son playing the role that Mel was heavily rumoured for back in the day.
Daniel Radcliffe as Beast. I know he's some people's pick for Wolverine but I think he fits Beast better.
Harry Styles as Angel. He really impressed me in Dunkirk, and he could easily pull off the pretty boy with angst.
Kaitlyn Dever as Kitty Pryde.
Thomas Mann as Iceman. Me, Earl and the Dying Girl is one of my favourite movies ever and Mann was excellent in it.
Kurt Ostlund as Colossus. I like him in Snowpiercer and I'm looking forward to seeing more of him in that show. He has the look and he's an appropriate age to be a love interest for Kitty.
Ryan Potter as Nightcrawler. OK yes this is pretty lazy typecasting as I'm essentially imagining his Kurt as just a blue version of Beast Boy, but just because a casting is obvious doesn't mean it's bad.
Vanessa Kirby as Emma Frost.
O'Shea Jackson Jr. as Bishop. He's great in Ingrid Goes West.
LaKeith Stanfield as Gambit. LaKeith is just effortlessly cool without being over the top or cartoonish, and I'm sure he could easily pull off the accent.
My personal pick for Rogue is Billie Lourd. She was fantastic in Booksmart. She stole the entire movie with just 6 minutes of screen time. Also, although I do not watch American Horror Story, her character in the most recent season is basically a Rogue cosplay, so she could pull off the classic 90s look.
Lucy Liu as Mystique. She's my favourite part of Kill Bill, and she's also great in Elementary. I would really like to see them explore Mystique's complicated relationships with Nightcrawler and Rogue.
Thomasin McKenzie as Polaris. She's great in Jojo Rabbit, plus she looks as if she could be believably related to Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Johnson.
Milo Ventimiglia as Cable. Always loved Milo since Heroes and I think he could play a gruff badass soldier from the future.
Jon Hamm as Mr. Sinister. Another obvious choice, but that's because he'd be a great choice in my opinion.
Pilou Asbæk as Sabretooth. Yes Euron was a bad character, but I think he gave a good performance in spite of the writing, and he's also really good in Overlord.
Linda Hamilton as Destiny.
