Report: DC’s ‘Constantine’ Formally Canceled at NBC

If Marvel had aired Daredevil on NBC, it would have been in line for cancellation. They made the wise decision to use NetFlix.

In the Pre-Marvel Studios era, yes. Spike too comes to mind (i.e. Blade: The Series)

It takes a while for exec's to understand the changing technologies and attitudes, unless it makes them a lot of money.
What Netflix did with Daredevil was awesome and it was something that they couldn't do on regular broadcasting.

To counter the Marvel/Netflix deal, the WB could arrange one with Hulu or Yahoo. Hell, I can easily see YouTube joining the playing field in 5 years time

Constanstine never really had a chance starting out and landign on
Friday Nights, which has long been the kiss of death to most TV action shows
(see NBC's Dracula) i'm hoping to catch the whole series on maybe DVD or streaming.

Probably better that way. It was a forgettable and terrible series.

It's not been canceled though. :funny:

The Producers are pitching their ideas to NBC for season 2 and then they'll decide. The OP just got ahead of himself because of a lousy source.

Especially a source that repeats TV By The Numbers' bull.

I was referring to that Blade series. Constantine wasn't bad.

I really hope the pitch goes great today and NBC shocks everyone by giving the show a second season.

A good sign but if the ratings for season 2 don't go up enough (if it does indeed get a second season) then that'll be the end of it.

That is if NBC sucks up the adtime for yet another bog standard Dick Wolf EP'd program, doomed new sitcom or another bastard live musical.

Then again, you could say the same for Mysteries of Laura too since that also is advertised less as Constantine while the adtime when into State of Affairs, Night Watch, Peter Pan Live, and the Slap

I just watched the series over the past few days and I was surprised how good it was.

If they ditch this then Hannibal is the only show I'd watch from them. The rest of their shows are either uninteresting or boring.

^what he said.

this and hannibal seem to be the only things they got going for them .

I hope more people watch it online and support this, I mean that's the only way to increase the viewer-ship, get more people.

I've been wanting to re-watch the earlier episodes so I'm glad NBC put them all online the only problem is that I actually liked the show even more the second time around so now if it gets canceled it will suck all the more. :csad:

I'd watch it on the website but all it tells me is the content is unavailable. Yeesh.

I'm in 'a' country. Just not 'Murica. :p I found 'other' ways to watch the show but I was willing to give a rewatch to bolster the numbers but if they don't be wanting my viewer numbers then they can't be having them. HMPH!

Officially cancelled.

NBC a "no" for Season 2. Warner Bros working hard to find #Constantine new home. Stay active. Stream. Tweet. #SaveConstantine #Hellblazers

Which other network could be a possibility?

It was basically over when NBC didn't order the back 9 a few months ago.

I never expected all the superhero shows to survive. I'm just glad we only lost one of them.
