So...Resident Evil. I really liked Resident Evil 2, and I liked RE4 as well, but I'm also aware that their stories were B-movie-ish (although not without its charms in 2's case). So they always required a certain amount of updating.
With the movies, I liked the first one, thought the second was pretty bad, and haven't been back. As far as action goes, though, it's not like the games themselves didn't become more action-oriented later on, and they generally lost the plot. Leon went from a uniformed cop who was in over his head to a moody Secret Service agent. Claire was doing over-the-top spy action in the intro video for Code Veronica (only to use tank controls in the actual game).
I'd be up for a more direct adaptation of Resident Evil 1 (and then 2), but I'm not overly concerned about them following the story of the early games beyond maybe loose terms. I would prefer that they go more subdued and more horror/thriller; even if they do keep up the action, it doesn't have to be one or the other. In general, I'd like something closer to the early games while also good, and hopefully with Claire Redfield because I like Claire.
