Like I said, I pretty much have to. Mostly because I'm a huge GoW ****e and I just have to experience a next-gen God of War title.
Maybe I'll be getting one by June or something, I dunno. I also want a Wii, so I'm not really sure.

I'm in kinda the same position, but I play other people's systems to get my current gen fix. I'll get a PS3 first, being a huge GoW ****e like yourself, andthen I'll get a 360 later down the line for ME, Gears, Gears 2, Halo 3, Fable 2, and Condemned: Criminal Origins. But I NEED GoW3, MGS4, Resistance 1 and 2, Uncharted, RaC:F and the inevitable sequel, Jak4(hopefully) and Motorstorm 1 and 2 or I will not be complete.

FREAKING AWESOME,:eek::eek: YOU DA MAN DMC YOU DA MAN, DOWN LIZZY DOWN, REMEMBER TO BREATHE!!!;):oldrazz::D:up:

Crysis Schmysis.

LOL, Crysis rapes the s**t out of both Resistance 1 and 2 combined. Not only does it look infinitely better than Resistance 2, but nano-suit powers, customizable weapons and sandbox gameplay with vehicular action beats some next-gen Serious Same clone set in alternate history anyday.

Crysis was a total let down...:o :csad:

I played it at my friends house and I thought the game was really redundant. The nano-suit power were really dumb and poorly made, you couldn't even explore them that long

"Hits cloak button" walk two feet, "What the hell its shut off?" :cmad:

Edit: I don't want to start s***, so I'll just refrain from comparisons this early.

PS: Sorry, Electro, I didn't see it.

Guess it is you here who is dumb. The cloak drains a lot more slowly or almost not at all when you are prone or moving while crouching. It's not there so you can go all "Predator" the entire time. You can really have a blast with it by playing cat and mouse with your enemies by shooting one sentry and then going into cloak mode for a few seconds, slowly coming around from the back of the other group and then flanking them. And the nano-suit powers add a level of tactical depth not found in the brainless Serious Sam shooting action of Resistance (now even MORE enemies and bigger bosses, yeah, more crap). I mean, yeah, I'll pay attention to Resistance when you can do things like:

- switch to strength mode and throw objects weighing a ton at your enemies or significantly improve your accuracy
- go into speed mode to run through an entire minefield without setting a single one off
- blow the corner pillars of a hut to have the roof come crashing down on your enemies
- flip a jeep racing towards you by shooting off one of it's front tires just as it is about to smash into a roadblock of trees you created

You can only truly enjoy Crysis if you've got a brain to try creative strategies to fight your enemy rather than being stuck with just mindless trigger happy action. But seeing as how you seem to have a hard-on for ******ed games like Resistance, I guess it's not your fault you sucked so much at Crysis.

Dude Crysis was dissapointing and bombed at retail, get over you're I must slather my opinion over everything and **** on anything Sony shtick. It's just a shame most opf that maliability is only present largely at the start of Crysis. Let's be atagonistic and act like Crysis and Resistance have the same recources availalble to them. What's the recommented ram for Crysis again? 2 gigs? How many people can it have playing at once? 32? Resistance will run 60 just fine. Does it even have Co-op? Resistance 2 has up to 8 man online co-op.

Get out of here dude. You're just *****ing up the thread but blowing up stilted comparisons, and I know you weren't the first one to say it, but you sure ran with it well above the call of duty.

Anyone want to be to say that Resistance 2 basically looks like a high res Resistance 1, now? Yeah, it's an HD resistance... with a much higher polygon count, much more activity on screen, much better textures, much denser scene complexity, much better lighting model, better animation (going off of the shot of the Chimera on the stairs) and everything a sequel should be, right out of the gate of what we've seen so far.

Looks great, really great. The scale is something else.

Anyone want to be stupid enough to say taht REsistance 2 basically looks like a high res Resistance 1, now?

YOU'RE WASTING YOUR TIME ZEN HE OBVIOUSLY ALREADY HAS HIS MIND SET!!!;):D

Please, don't give me these pathetic "let's play fair" excuses. Obviously one of your fellow Sony ****es should've thought of that before dragging Crysis into this discussion. Now that you realize it is downright hopeless to directly compare the two games because Crysis analrapes Resistance in every goddamn thing that matters, you're reaching for loose straws in desperation. Resistance having 60 players in multiplayer? Oh geez, that's because it's only running at ONE THIRD the level of detail as Crysis. Online co-op? Nobody plays that on the PC, so devs don't bother. The game bombing at retail? How does it affect the game's quality in any way whatsoever? Oh right, IT DOESN'T! But let's bring the whole moronic "sales" argument into the equation anyway because it's the final hiding place, the last FIG LEAF.

Yeah well I seem to have a radical intolerance for ******ed statements. Sue me.

Oh and it gives me great pleasure to know that my posts really get on your sensitive little nerves like that. Gives me an even greater incentive to "*****e up" more of your beloved threads. :hehe::up:

Here we go again. :(

Oh and I didn't actually mind the DMC got the credit for the scans, I'm not a respect seeking ****e!

:(

Actually, DMC made the Crysis comparison first. And quite honestly, Resistance 2 will never look as good as Crysis, on account that the GPU isn't as good as the 360's GPU, which isn't as good as high-end GPUs out on this day and date.

Oh don't mention GPUs, now Zenien will present a series of boring facts and figures that may or may not prove her point, and it'll be days before there's an interesting post to read again.

She already knows that what I say is true. The PS3's GPU just isn't powerful enough to render the same things that you'll find on your PC screen. Even with the Cell, nothing on the PS3 will ever rival that of the PC. The PC versions will always look better.

I can't believe people got so sensitive over a little quip. I was just expressing my excitement. Should I have said Halo 3 instead? If I had, it would have been the same thing. Somehow, Resistance 2 would end up as crappy compared to it. Nothing on the PS3 seems to ever be worth a damn anyway, right? Which is why I said I'll refrain from making comparisons, so that we all just enjoy the screens that Electro (!) provided.

Edit: I don't think it's as easy as GPU vs GPU. I read the article Zenien provided and then I looked at Mark Rein's comments regarding UT3 vs GoW then I read how Insomniac recently said Uncharted couldn't be done on...then how Splinter Cell couldn't be done on....etc etc. Seems to me everything matches up pretty well. Perhaps I should not have made the Crysis comment. But I think both consoles will be capable of those graphics. Just look at God of War 2 compared to say...DOA. The systems end up going a long way. And Fenrir, why I gotta be a Sony ****e? lol And if I'm a Sony ****e, what does that make you? I never even liked Sony until late in the PS2's cycle. Quite frankly, I liked the original Xbox better and I like the 360 better at the moment.

Neither can the 360, not at the fidelity of the .65% percent of the people who own a PC powerful enough to run it at max settings will be able to do. But it's still more of a ram isue than a GPU issue, for any prospective port, for either console. Take your 'PC> everything, but I'll only use to it to attack the PS3" crap out of this thread. Resistance would be fully able to look better than Crysis since games are more art driven than tech driven, in todays environment. Guess what has higher uality character models and environments than Crysis? Omg, Heavy Ran. Too bad so sad, it's all about art direction and budgetting recources. Heck, Killzone 2 looks better than Crysis, but your love of a realistically rendered jungle, not the technical aspects behind it, will probably have you say otherwise.

With Cell the PS3 GPU can easilly exceed the 360 GPU in aspects that are important. Graphics wise year 1 PS3 games are clearly looking better. So oh well. If they dedicate an SPU to vertex and texture processing (a task that a single SPU outperforms either GPU at FYI), so be it.

You might as well stop now though, because you're just going to ***** and complain and nothing will go anywhere. So just leave, instead of stroking your ego.
