if you're right about something that has nothing to do with anything, why should i care?

I think every party involved should just drop the argument as it adds nothing to this thread.

Resistance Fall of Man to be shown on Game Head on Spike T.V. on Saturday, the whole half hour is devoted to Resistance so expect lots of new info and new gameplay levels. If anyone is interested.

Whoa Nathan Hale upgraded.

Hahahah exactly my reaction, I was like whoa that looks sweet, I love the detail in his uniform, I believe thats in-engine because Insomniac never uses CGI for cut scenes, actually come to think of it that is in-game, they said in an article the graphics are so detailed that they actually use them for cinematics.

I thought it was a sweet way they were done and very interesting. I wonder whose on that photograph he puts in his uniform? They only thing i'm sad about is Nathan Hale doesn't have the steeley eyed bad ass look, but I guess he was to emotional about the picture.

WHAT THE HELL IS THAT PICTURE.

Oh no that's definately in engine or whatever. I mean it COULD be "in game" but you don't really ever SEE the Nathan Hale Model (outside from if he dies maybe) during gameplay since you'd be playing him from a FP perspective and all that (and they wouldn't waste rescources rendering his model except for the segments where it goes into thirs person (driving?). Eitherway, pretty detailed for sure, VERY detailed shading on his face.

Actually those are in-game graphics:) Amazing is all I have to say. I guess thats only half of the opening though, Insomniac said you'll have to play to get the sweet other half.

The opening for this game sounds amazing. I'll post it in a little bit.

The game gets crazy right off the bat, beginning with an invasion of England's east coast by the US Army. Sent to retrieve a weapon, Hale and his fellow troops have no idea what's waiting for them when they land in the city of York. Their surprise is reflected in the first level's absolute bedlam. After rappelling down from a transport plane, we hit a seemingly abandoned street covered in debris and bomb craters. A few steps in, something seven feet tall and covered in teeth lurched out from behind a barricade and started mowing down our comrades with a pulse rifle, and all hell broke loose.

Resistance is shaping up to be surprisingly tough. We learned this quickly - as the streets exploded with Chimera jumping out to take potshots at us. Running around shooting everything like a maniac quickly (and repeatedly) got us killed, so we ended up spending most of our time crouched behind cover, waiting for a chance to strike. As we made our way through to later levels, however - such as the bombed-out streets of Manchester - even that didn't save us. Beefier, brutal, better-armored Chimera were air-dropped onto the scene with Auger rifles.

The Augers are heavy pulse guns that can lay down temporary shield barriers and shoot through walls - a godsend when they're in your hands, but not so much when they're in the enemy's. Their aim was perfect, and a split-second flash was our only warning when the plasma bolts were about to worm through our cover. We had to keep running, ducking and firing constantly to stay alive.

I think that sounds awesome.

I love how my thread reaches the top only to get swated down to like number 3 or 5.

I would have a look at the new videos but I am doing a diagnostic on the networrk and internet connection here and dont want to mess up the figures and have to start again

For the muzzle flash enthusiasts/obsessives. The arm and head has light cast upon it in this shot.

I wonder why they bumped up the brightness in that picture

From what I remember the lighting is not from the gun as there is another shot with the same lighting but the guy is not shooting...I will go have a quick look.

i'm under the same impression mentok. the lighting is not from the gun.

Updated IGN preview:

TGS 2006: Resistance: Fall of Man Hands-on
Why can't we have this game, already?
by Chris Roper
September 21, 2006 - One of the PlayStation 3's most promising launch titles is undoubtedly Insomniac Games' Resistance: Fall of Man. The first-person shooter looks to be everything that a killer launch app should be -- it's original, looks fantastic and makes true use of Sony's next-generation console.

Sony's presence at TGS 2006 is rather large, so of course its premiere launch title is on hand for some play time. After entering the demo theater, we were treated to a short, few-minute video that explained the story setup and basic play mechanics. Being as Japanese gamers aren't nearly into first-person shooters as many other places in the world, the demo went through such basics as how to strafe and move with the left analog stick and look around with the right. In other words, it wasn't too helpful for us, but it did whet our appetite for the forthcoming play session.

We did notice a few quick snippets of new areas in the video, like a snowy section with ice-covered rocks surrounding a cave. Another section showed the player in a tank-like vehicle, fighting one of the spider enemies that you'll run into in the game. Aside from that, much of what the demonstration showed was old news, but still looked great.

Moving then into the play area, we got situated into a multiplayer skirmish in a session of the Breach multiplayer game type. Much of what we saw mimicked what we played during our trip to Burbank, so there's honestly not a whole lot new to report. We did pick up a few new weapons in this build, like a green flamethrower of some sort that torched the enemy and set them to their burning death. We also picked up the LAARK rocket launcher and smote a foe or two, but our time with that one was fairly short so we didn't get to fully test out all of its alternative fire options. Regardless, many Chimeran hybrids died at the sharp end of our bullets.

That about wraps up what we saw of Resistance at this year's Tokyo Game Show. There wasn't a whole lot new for us to check out, unfortunately, but the game still looks fantastic, and that's really all that matters.

Where's LIZARD? We could use some of his enthusiasm.

^

That's what I'm talking about. :D

This thread isn't the same when you're not around LIZARD.

Hahahha Thanks Avalanche:D

Dude those graphics are insane IMO, I love this game. OH I CAN"T WAIT TO PLAY IT!!! You guys see that crazy thing at the end! Oh my god I screamed I was like WOW :wow: :wow:

Is that all they are going to show? I thought we get to see like demos and stuff:(

We'll probably get some gameplay videos sometime tomorrow, or at least the near future.
