No wonder you don't like Resistance: Fall of Man, the whole watching T3 explains it all.....That movie sucked

Yeah, Resistance uses the Terminator 3 enginem but they don't want to say that.

Resistance uses its own custom engine, and has huge environments of awesome

EDIT: I wasn't T3 sucks horribly. :o

^Hahahahahah thats amazing :D Its quote worthy IMO, you might see that as my sig if its cool :D

Yeah I think its stupid I have to wait another two years before being able to purchase M games, I mean what can I get done in two years? Theres nothing, I think the rating system is for s**t. Those guys at Columbine were like 18 and still killed people.

I think it should be more based on your perceptions of reality and your sane level than your age, but thats just my opinion. I don't think age plays a huge role I mean i'm mature when I want to be, on here I act like a dumbass sometimes :O or maybe all the time depends on the side but thats besides the point. I think rating games and keeping them from children who are able to actually handle mature content is just lame.

I mean you'll always get those kids who are sneaking into R rated movies, why punish them for seeing something they can handle?

I forgot to post this during my ramble :)

Its quotes like these that make me think theres more to Resistance's graphics than what they have shown and frankly I think you all will feel the same and will stop bashing me for always saying "They will look better I swear"

In an interview about TGS, a question was asked "Is the current build the best Resistance can look?" and the answer? "Not even close". How much do you think will be improved

I understand (and agree with you) on the part that age restrictions do in fact keep some younger gamers from enjoying a game that they are more than mature enough to handle, but you also have to realize that the restrictions are for teh game companies also. It's a way for them to cover their own asses from overzealous parents who allow their emotionally stunted kids get a game that they, in all honesty, can't handle, and try and make up for it by suing the creators of the games. It's in no way for to the game creators, but it needs to eb done, since we can ID age, and not mental maturity.

To those insulting Terminator 3:

You suck :p
But seriously, it's not that bad of a movie. It's main problem is that it's the third movie of one of the best and most revered sequels of all times in T2. There was almost no way it could live up to the hype created around it, and through all the obstacles Mostow had to face, he gave us a solid movie and made an ending that was pretty much forced into a pretty good one.

It's like Die Hard 2. Not nearly as good as the first (which would be almost impossible to do), but still good.

^Wow I could never have said that better in my own words in a million years.

300 Lizzy points for you :D

Hmm...nope, I think you need to read between the lines, the developers were pretty clear about it

Insomniac confirms that Resistance will be 720p

Some time ago, Insomniac had stated that Resistance: Fall of Man would be able to support the 1080p resolution. However, today at Sony's Gamer's Day conference, they went back on that comment, now stating that the game will run up to 720p. This is what they said:

"Native 1080p (versus 720p scaled to 1080p) uses much more VRAM than 720p. When we finished up a few of our bigger levels at the very end of the development process we realized that we would have had to steal VRAM from some of our characters and environments to run in native 1080p. Anyway, we felt it was best to stay at 720p and that, at least while 1080p televisions are still relatively scarce, we should focus on implementing 1080p for our future games." - Ted Price

Price went on to say that they have done testing to make sure that the "Dead Rising Syndrome" (where text size scales with resolution and becomes unreadable on regular TVs) will not happen. They also said that Resistance takes up a total of 16GB on the Blu-Ray disc, not the 20GB that they had previously announced.

One question was raised that brought a lot more questions than answers. When asked about the in game friends list compared to the PS3 network friends list, this was the response:

"The buddy list is specific to Resistance. And we decided not to bother people in-game with messages. If you have a new message sent to you while you're in a game, you'll see your "buddy list" tab flashing when you re-enter the lobby after playing a game. The buddy list tab is where you can access your friends, ignore list, messages, etc."

This brings up the serious question as to whether the PS3 network friends list will be just for chatting outside of games or if there will eventually be support for it in games. Stay tuned for more Gamer's Day info.

That preview also said the game has some really nice location damage

It does, watch some videos and when you throw a grenade against the ground it explodes chunks of concrete up from the ground and crushes anyone surrounding, its awesome except he took of one of his own guys :( Bless his soul, he shouldn't have been standing there.

I find this to be extremely interesting.

So now RFOM is "only" 720p. But wait...if the screens still look great (which they do), what does that say for the need for 1080p?

And now they say the game only takes up 16G of space. So down from, 22G to 16 now? Interesting...

And now we have more evidence that 1080p-native games just aren't going to work well with the limited amount of VRAM that is available on the PS3.

And lastly..."The buddy list is specific to Resistance". But how's that going to work, when PS3's supposed to have a universal buddy list?? Is this more evidence of each game having it's own buddy list instead??

Gee...who could've seen THAT coming?? :ninja:

I think this game looks decent, I like the gameplay videos I've seen and I'm a sucker for creative guns.. But I still haven't seen anything that makes it stand out.. It's just a meh game for me, not great, not bad. it's in the middle. Plus, I hate the character designs.. with a passion.

Oh my god I hate 1.up they have gotten to play the whole game already F**K THEM!!! They say somethings about it in the OPM podcast, I haven't listened to it but people say they are over the top crazy about the game. Go check it out!

Finally figured out what those enemies remind me of!

Not the best comparison pic, but the best I could find...

Probably just me though.

^The second pic doesn't work :O

1.up said that this is a REALLY REALLY good game, they said it was awesome however its not the second coming of the FPS genre. they said you won't go blind by its awesomeness so i'm a sad panda right now :( But who cares I still think this game is going to be amazing!

That's what I'm thinking, it'll be good, but not amazing.. The game looks like it'll be fun to play but generic in a cumbersome FPS genre.. If the game doesn't bring anything new, then it's viewed as just okay.. It still looks fun to play, though.

One thing I don't like.. How your character looks like he's speedy ****ing gonzalez. I know humans got unlimited sprint, but holy ****, it seems like he's way too fast...

And now we have more evidence that 1080p-native games just aren't going to work well with the limited amount of VRAM that is available on the PS3.

It's not really evidence at all, there are MANY PS3 games going for 1080P, one of the most technically advanced next gen games period is true 1080P. For Resistance 1080P isn't achievable with the time they have, for Lair? They're rendering huge environments with thousands of solders and enemies and they're running in 1080P.

That shot doesn't look as good as the rest.. Wow, i really hate the character design :(
