I wouldn't be suprised if Resistance does end up better then Gears but that's way too early to call.

^True, I love Gears of War and really hope that game does well and is what everybody wants it to be, but man so many people say Resistance and Halo and neck and neck for first place and Halo is supposedly one of the greatest shooters of all time, even though its overrated as hell I think it should be an honor for Resistance to be compared to it.

Well I'm just not sold on the constant stop and pop mechanic of Gears, and as the 1Up guys have said, the game gets awkward as Soon as an enemy flanks your cover (which happens). Epic has said that they aren't showing everything, and all the news Journos as saying that they hope there's more to the gameplay of Gears of War then what has been shown off so far, so it could deliver or it could not.

It doesn't even look that remarkable in game really. I mean it does not look like all of their promo material shots (dare I say downgraded) that they originally released, when the gme is running, and the screen quality is a bit of a mess (no AA?). That being said it could end up playing well, looking good, and having an awesome atmosphere.

Now granted Resistance isn't a texturing monster, but awesome weapons + apparently good maps + 40 person multiplayer? That doesn't sound to bad either.

Did you listen to Ted Price on 1Up Yours talk about the Missile launcher? Or how the 'shoot through walls' gun puts up a temporary sheild as its secondary fire? Totally awesome stuff.

Whatshisface we'll see how you’re precious Gears of War will hold its own against Resistance, but let’s just wait and see who gets game of the year and who gets better reviews.

I bet Whatshisface just doesn't want to conform to our side that Resistance: FOM will be amazing and will be awesome and he just thought it was going to suck but now that he has seen more of it he’s like oh my god how could I have doubted this game.

It won't suck, read the reviews of the demo and you'll see. People already asked Insomniac to get the final game that wasn't debugged or the final game with graphics and stuff. They wanted to play the game so bad that OPM actually sold itself out on the experience of Resistance: Fall of Man and played a downgraded version and still said "It’s a REALLY REALLY REALLY good game."

I think that says a lot, plus we don't know a whole lot about the game for we have seen only 4 levels out of 44 massive levels and Gears of War has shown like three levels and they all look the same and many people complain that it just uses the same tons of grey and doesn't do anything for your eyes after an hour of game play.

But Resistance is yellow I'm hearing you say, that’s totally not true. During the game they use all sorts of different colors and not just one....so in conclusion.

They both look great, however I like the grittier more realistic look to Resitance. Gears is way too lit up, all neon looking in some parts. However that being said, it does look good

It looks like fun, but it doesn't break new ground or anything. It follows the same formula that most shooters have. If anything, Resistance is the one that has yet to prove something. Just because it's gotten a few good reviews doesn't mean that it can come close to the praise that Gears has gotten.

Neither does Gears, they are taking a page out of Kill Switch and just has better graphics

The 1.up guys have played it and they said it gets old after a while and they said it gets repetivie so since they've played it I think i'll take their word over anyones on here. Experience is the key to ignorance.
