Storyline-wise, physically, etc. What's one canon 616 thing you'd like to retcon and change forever about your favorite X-character?

Favourite Character : Maggott.

Thing to retcon : Tieri being born. *still angry after all this time lol*

Easy. The crap Morrison threw at Jean/Scott during his run including that affair with Emma

Doesn't matter, he still would have ended up with Emma, whose like a FAR more interesting character, but I digress, you have your opinion and I have mine. :o

I'd retcon every time Claremont made Storm into an uber-elite Mary Sue with no faults.

Character: Wolverine.

Retcon: Ah, so much **** to choose from. I'll go with retconning all of ORIGIN.

Not really...since Morrison didn't even originally intend to use Emma..

And my favorite character is Rogue but i'm sure i'll think of something to retcon off of her :p

Bishop
I'd retcon him going ape**** insane for no valid reason other than the 'writers' needed a fall guy for Messiah Complex because their big event about nothing was infact going nowhere and an X-man that was semi-important was chosen to be the big bad to increase the shock value.

Character: Wolverine.

Since Origins has already been mentioned, I'd have to go with the whole crazy "evolved from dogs" thing, followed closely by the mess of Silverfox and the memory implants way back when.

What the heck?

Oh, and one more thing.

Character: Gambit

Retcon that whole becoming Apocalypse's Death. Grrr . . .

Haha, he's not my fav character but I wanted to say:

Character: Bishop

Retcon: The last 3-4 years(pretty much everything after District X ended)

There's too much to fix in Earth 616 to choose just one character and a given F**k-Up.
I say we need something to wipe the slate clean up all the inconsistencies and overall mess. I know that's an impossible dream though. No way Marvel big guns have enough brain matter to pull anything of such mammoth proportions and actually make it work.

Yeah if I picked that one AND the real one I wanted to retcon, Id be breaking my own rule to pick one. And if I had to decide, I'd have to go with the one I had in mind originally.

Get rid of his "real" name being "James Howlett." Prolly so many more James Howletts in the phonebook than the one-name name "Logan."

With the Lupine thing, at least not everyone knows about that. But when I saw the new Wolverine toys coming out and on the box it said "Wolverine, Real Name: James Howlett aka "Logan," I had to make this thread. If only a handful of people knew it'd be alright but they are planning to make it as popular as people knowing him as Logan.

Wolverine: The whole Agent of HYDRA/HAND thing and being killed by Gorgon.

haha! that last one's pretty funny. i agree with ALL of the wolverine comments....

lets see, there are SO many things to retcon with psylocke! her character has been mutilated for the past twenty years! im gonna go with.......anything and everything claremont has done to her since his return to the x-books.

so mostly, her getting telekineses, and then not being able to change anything about herself, no psychic links, and all that nonsense her brother did to her

Storm

I cannot limit it down to just one thing during the Lobdell/Kelly/Seagle run that I would retcon out. However, issues prior and after their run go a long way to set things right. :D

Character: Iceman.

The whole arc Chuck Asten gave the character in general, plus his involvement with Nurse Annie and the triangle interconnected to Havok and Polaris.

Bishop

good one. Thats about the worst piece of character assasination to hit these books ever. I was hoping they'd reveal he was a prime sentinel with the real Bishop out there somewhere, but they passed on that

IA here as well. She should have NEVER been TK. I preferred her just before this with her TP and shadow powers. That was Psylocke at ehr best

I agree I don't like how they did that in the story, but I understand the writer's reasoning behind it. since he's from the future they probably thought well the future can change so the character can have a new agenda. but it doesn't really work in this case.
