The Amazing Spider-Man Rhys Ifans Cast as The Lizard

Quint from AICN posted he got a good look and says it looks like HulkLizard.

No pants of labcoat either.

I am not excited to see his genitals, but I am not a fan of a lizard in pants, especially considering his size.

The lab coat and pants was just a censor thing back in the day so he wouldn't be stark naked when he reverted back. Him being nekkid in the film is how it would honestly play out.

...What is it with you guys and The Lizard's genitals? Some strange fetish pushed into the back of your minds or something?... O.o

They're not gonna have a naked monster running around with his dong flapping about, come on guys. -_-

The Lizard in the MTV series was naked and even he wasn't like that.

Yeah, he was kinda scrawny. Reminded me more of the Ultimate Lizard.

I can't wait to see the Lizard in action. I have no problem with the fact that he's going to be huge.

It's not that I don't want to see his genitals. Because I know we won't.

But still, the clothes are visually a huge part of him IMO. Lizard without the labcoat and pants wouldn't feel like him in a way. That's how it feels now, I might change my mind later on.

BTW I love that pic Nathan.

They shouldn't of made him huge, they should of saved the huge villains for like Rhino,Venom,Kingpin, etc. On a plus though, this is basically a guarantee that we won't get a hulk Goblin.

At that point he clearly will be the Hulk.

Then give him the coat and some pants--or at least a coat. I always hated Lizard designs without clothes. Like The Wolf Man, there is something preferable about him having those traces of humanity on him.

Well, he was pretty huge in the 90's cartoon too.

Exactly!

I think sense we don't actually see the full body of The Lizard in the leaked pics, I'm going to assume that he's naked, that you get both a second stage Lizard where he's has scale, a tail and lab coat, and in his completed form where he's naked. So you do get the 60s comic book Lizard, where The Lizard can actually speak and you can still see elements of Curt Connors for character development purposes. Then in his last transformation he's full bleed I can't talk naked creature.

Either way, after seeing The Lizard, I can't see how Spider-Man can physically beat this thing. Someone said that he was smaller than they had imagined after seeing the multiple trailers, but this creature is massive. I cannot wait to see how they pull off the fight scenes.

Spidey does have super strength, agility, and he's a genius. I'm sure he'll find a way.

They know that fans want the classic Goblin, it'd be a little strange to have the death of Gwen with the Ultimate Goblin.

The best part of a comic book movie is that you can take the best (and most suitable) bits from the character's mythology.

Ultimate Goblin did drop Mary Jane off a bridge as an homage to that.

True, but he better have the Avengers on speed dial just in case.

SPIDEY: "Is this Fury? OK! Look, I need --- OW! OOF! --- I need your help with --- OW, My legs! It hurts so much!!"
