LOVED him in notting hill. I can see him playing Mysterio. With the movie going 3D, i wouldnt be surprised to see them use Mysterio's mirages come into play with the whole 3D idea.

He is obviously the Lizard, IMO. No other villain really fits that quota of showing warmth and rage. I don't know anything about the guy so I don't know how to feel about this choice.

Combining warmth and rage? Definitely sounds like Connors. Though, he wouldn't really need much "rage" since that's what his Lizard persona does. So I have no idea. I'm totally clueless :S

Makes you think along that lines, and with the comment by Webb about Spider-Man villans being great that they have a connection with Peter... makes me think Dr. Connors too. Perhaps the "rage" will mean he will have a slow transformation to the Lizard.

This news certainly came out of nowhere. Can't say I too familiar with the actor, but I'm sure he's capable of playing whomever it is he's playing.

I Wonder why Sony is so hush about the villian.

The more clips I see of him, the more I think he'll be great. He has this odd look to him, perfect for a villain. I'll be happy if he's Curt. The more casting decisions that are being made, the more excited I am becoming. And to think I was against the reboot at first.
