ehh...I just dont think you can do the Jackal..Hes known for his clone saga...thats about it...and a clone saga = a big no no on screen
Just like the Jackals look wouldnt transfer well on screen too

I'm also thinking Vulture or Lizard, although I'm leaning more towards Lizard. Webb said something about Ifans ability to emote both Warmth and Rage; so whoever the villain is, it will likely be someone who care's about Parker i.e Dr. Conners as his teacher, and then the rage part when he's starting to be affected by the Lizard serum.

Connors was Parker's college Professor, so again, is this set in HS or college? Or is it still unknown at this point...?

Peter and Gwen did volunteer in Connor's Lab after school in spectacular spider-man, so it could still work with the High School setting

Whoa, for a second, I thought they says John Rhys Davies as the villain. Phew!

All I remember is that this guy is playing Luna's dad in DH. I have never seen him in a film before. But I trust this is a good choice.

Like most here, I think it's Connors. Hey, I hope that it's Connors. I've been wanting Lizard to show up since before SM3.

I gotta admit I've never seen any of Ifans's films, but apparently he was very creepy in Enduring Love, in which he plays Daniel Craig's stalker. So he should make a good villain.

Enduring Love is a very good film. Recommended.

Judging by how creepy he looks you would assume he would be playing Carnage.

But then judging on how old he is I'm assuming he's playing Doc Conners.

Seeing as how Lizzie is a very important villian we have yet to see.

Alright, I'm sensing a case of "the stupid" going on in this topic.

First of all...why in the world would he be the damn Jackal?! No one knows who he is and his villain status is looooowww. Just because his story coincides with Stacy doesn't mean he'll be in this. Do some of you even think before you post? My God.

And it's obviously either Norman or Dr. Connors but leaning towards the latter. That being because if Gobby is the villain again, it'll feel like an uninspired film. We never got the chance to see Lizard yet so...unless we never hear Norman casting news, it's the Doc.

And the guy who said the relationship of Connors, Peter, and Gwen will be connected...totally agree with you.

Again, he better not be Norman because we had Norman in the original film. Make him a secondary character to set up his madness and unleash him in the sequel where the inevitable death occurs(and I love Emma...sad). Then tease the MJ relationship for the conclusion to the trilogy where it will blossom.

I think they'd use the first act to establish the Connors/Gwen/Peter relationship.He could be a mentor to both.I don't think this movie will delve into the origin too much.Probably a brief recap during the credits like Incredible Hulk.Even if this guy isn't Connors and The Lizard isn't the villain I think Connors will at the very least be introduced.

Well I think it is safe to assume he won't be playing Connors/Lizard. Man if Lizzy isn't in it and they are recycling boy in high school loves the girl next door (just substituting MJ in with Gwen) without MJ...as much as I like the idea of Garfield as Spidey, this just isn't shaping up the best for me.

I have only seen him in Notting Hill (not counting the very forgettable Vanity FAir), but Ifans was hilarious in that and I am sure he will do a solid job with what I think is going to be Electro (I had expected Vulture, but they went too young for that).

Unless they cast an MJ and play up that aspect of the mythos, my interest in this has dropped tremendously in the last week.

But there are versions of The Lizard that talk, so we could see his savage side of his personality. However, I think he could do great as Max Dillion/Electro as well

Never heard of him, but he looks like he could be Conners or Electro.

The guy's name makes me think Kraven.
