I love Riddick. The cliffhanger at the end of the second movie was definitely an interesting cliffhanger that nobody saw coming.

I definately hope they continue the story, the DC especially of TCOR provided so much potential for the sequels to be great, it could be like a Sci-fi Conan series, and Riddick is a really good character who i personally would like to see more of.

Karl Urban's character was also cool, and it seemed like the series was heading for a showdown between him and Riddick, possibly on Furia.

I'm one of the few that really enjoyed and appreciated the 2nd Riddick film. Chronicles had an entertaining story, great action sequences and awesome bad guys. The film also had a GREAT artistic quality to it in terms of the ships and the uniforms.

please let this happen...i was one of the few believers in Chronicles of Riddick and would love a sequel.

I just want a sequel to Escape from Butcher Bay, not just a remake of it.

I'll welcome these if they can get back that 'Pitch Black' type vibe(as another poster stated),and kindof ditch the Riddick movie. I thought it was a lame movie, though I enjoyed some aspects of it...

i liked the chronicles of riddick quite a bit. i'd be all for a sequel.

Yes, moar Riddick! I loved Pitch Black and TCOR! The animated short movie was cool too.

“Everyone knows I love the Riddick character and I’m always working on it,” Diesel asserted. “It just takes five years to make another one because David Twohy and I are so precious about it.”

You gotta love Vin Diesel. He's grounded in less reality than his movies.

Agreed, it was a great cliffhangar and a great tease for what was to come, so I hope we do in fact get to see....you know.....what is to come!

I know what you mean, its going to be incredibly difficult to get the funding for these sequels, but you never know, they may just do it, of course they wont get anywere near a $100 million budget again, but that could be a good thing.

20 to 30 million means David Twohy has complete creative control. Chronicles being a summer blockbuster would no doubt have producers hovering over David Twohy's head.

P.S. just a reminder. Sign here

^What is that petition regarding?

Also, yeah, about a $40-50 million budget should do for each of these sequels.

Yeah, and I think that's the problem. I wasn't too big on "Chronicles," but regardless of that, when it comes to sci-fi movies, you just can't be cheap with them. Even if you have great characters and a solid story... if your movie looks like something that even the Sci-Fi Channel would reject, then you probably shouldn't bother making the film.

Riddick just doesn't have the following that Diesel wants it to... as a matter of fact I think it may also be the reason that Diesel himself doesn't have much of a fanbase anymore. By shrugging off the xXx and Fast and the Furious sequels to make the Riddick movie, the public lost interest in him and he went from being the next big action star to relative obscurity almost overnight. Not saying that xXx or Fast and the Furious were great movies, but if Diesel had made a few more films in that genre he could have solidified his public favor and then films like Riddick might have generated more attention.

Which is probably why now, after all these years, he's making another Fast and the Furious film. Funny how things come around, isn't it?

I like Vin, I like Pitch Black and Chronicles so I would be happy to see more Riddick films, especially if they continue where they left off..

It is indeed, especially when Vin tried to distance himself from those types of movies a few years ago, but to be fair, Riddick is by far his best character.

If there's one thing I want in the next Riddick film, it would be an arena scene. I want to see Riddick get dropped into some kind of Necromonger Colosseum and then fight a bunch of thugs and monsters one at a time. It would be crazy.

If there's a second thing I'd want in the movie, it would be the return of that mercenary chick who was hot for Riddick. Sexy...

i am looking now at teh numbers at boxofficemojo. and WOOW this was a complete bomb.

Although CoR wasn't a great movie I still feel Vin can bring more of Riddick to the screen. I absolutely loved Pitch Black. I hope these sequels make it to film. I just feel that the character hasn't yet run it's course in cinema yet.

^The character has pleny of more potential hat can be fulfilled, especially now he is the leader of an all conquering and seeminlgy unstoppable army. Things could get pretty damn interesting, which is why I hope the sequels are made.
