Riots in Missouri - Part 1

I don't understand where some people are coming from. Did they want the cop to drive away after the subject started assaulting him? "Small bruises" or not he was still assaulting him. He was doing his job and the guy tried to muscle his way with the cop like he did with the shop owner beforehand.
I wanted him not to kill the unarmed teenager when he didn't have to.

So sad, the whole Ferguson destroyed! That lady who was smiling earlier think it WON'T get rebuild, it will become a ghost town in the future she thinks

Yeah, I don't think it's been made clear. But Wilson's own testimony was that he yelled at him to get out of the street, and that's how it started. Doesn't seem like Wilson was thinking of/even aware of the theft.

Upon further reading, (and this is all on wikipedia linked out to other source if you want to see it yourself) the original dispatch went out at 11:53 of a robbery; at 11:57 the description of the suspect went out. Three minutes later Wilson radioed in asking if they needed backup, clearly showing he had heard the previous dispatches.
He then happened upon Brown and the other guy walking in the middle of the street, yelled at them and told them to go on the sidewalk or whatever, and then, upon realizing Brown was the suspect in question, backed up his car and the confrontation then ensued.

That's real easy to say when there is not a 300 pound man trying to assault you.
I'm not going to condone his actions, but to blindly condemn him when he was put in a situation most of us will never be in is equally as foolish.

He tried taking his gun and charged at him after being told numerous times to stop.
He was not trying to take his gun when he shot him. He might have been charging, but that is what you have your nonlethal equipment for. And if Wilson wasn't thinking straight, then he should have never got out of his car.

I find nothing foolish about expecting an officer of the law to try and avoid killing someone when possible. It is human life afterall.

All of that is a matter of debate.

It WAS a matter of debate, they had a trial that reviewed all of the evidence and witnesses. People don't like the outcome because of what the media twisted the story around to be when this incident first happened.

Are you being serious? The whole of Ferguson? Joke.

They did not have a trial. None of the evidence was test nor any witnesses cross examined.

Again, he was doing his job. The subject robbed a store.

There was no trial. That's what this is all about. A grand jury decided not to indict (charge) him.

Ain't just their standard, and they can't change it alone.
People are trying to change it. It doesn't change because people continue to defend and allow such action to occur.

And I am not sure what you mean with your first point? Whose standard?

Which he didn't know when he started the whole thing by yelling, "Get out of the f***ing street" at Brown.

Sound like an even-tempered guy to you? The kind you want to have a gun and badge?

Is there a reason there are no fire fighters? Do they consider it to dangerous with the gunfire?

curious.. Scolding rioters is one thing, and it is nominally understood, from a standpoint of "if you break stuff, the cops will come down hard on you"-- but ultimately, whether someone "peacefully protests" or not, the public policy doesn't change. The shootings of the unarmed and innocent by police are not penalized. If those who "peacefully protest" and offer prayers are "doing the right thing" and "civilized" in comparison-- what is the next step when government and law enforcement don't change, and, in so many words, tell the aggrieved to kick rocks?

.. how about CNN and the like also scolding: governors, district attorneys, state legislatures, police departments, police commissioners...

That town is DONE, all those businesses burned are the KEY business in that town, at least from what I hear.

Did I hear wrong?
The destruction, while horrible, is in one specific part of town. Or at least that is what has been said on CNN.

Exactly. How are you suppose to effect change if they don't allow it? If the people with the power can just ignore the people and continue to do what they want. Those that speak out are ignored.
