Riots in Missouri - Part 1

So you think all protests turn violent? Interesting.

And what about the people that protest, but have never done anything illegal or violent? They lose their constitutionally protected rights because of a few idiots? I don't want to live in your version of America.

:whatever:

Almost EVERY time with this particular protest, it has gotten violent!

IF it will turn violent, REGARDLESS how many good protestors are involved, then it's NOT a good idea to protest!

Thank goodness you didn't live during time leading up to the American Revolution, you would have had a stroke.

It seems people are forgetting that there is still a Federal Investigation ongoing in Ferguson...they are looking at specifics of things many of you are stating here, racism within the police department etc.
People forget because it rarely results in anything. The police department running a racial agenda or protecting their own is insulated by the fact that they are the ones who have all the info.

Exactly. The Boston Tea Party was BAD!!!! They were violent and destroyed all that good tea.

But there is of course a difference between the REAL justice, and a justice imagined in their heads.

American revolution is based on REAL justice, this one absolutely is NOT!

And now we have a cellphone store that is being looted....*sighs* and....now McDonald's is being hit.

And who decides what "real" justice is, you?

Some Nut with a baseball bat is breaking into a McDonalds...

I'm sure the best way to get people to sympathise with the situation is to loot and flip cars and hurt people :whatever:

All around the US (and probably Canada) people are watching the news on Ferguson and stereotyping those involved. Not a good way to get sympathy or justice.

Good lord, there is a liquor store that has artwork in reference and honor of Brown, and they are breaking into it running out with bottles in their shirt. Good grief....oh ****, and I see someone holding a gun up in the air outside of the liquor store, I guess the reporter didn't see it.

Considering all the underlying problems in this town, I have a hard time blaming the citizens.
You'll find no argument from me there. This whole thing has been horribly mismanaged by local, state, and federal authorities. IMO, it was blatantly obvious that the prosecutors did not want to press charges against Wilson. And like I said, while I am not saying that Wilson should have been found innocent or guilty, at the very least a trial should have happened.

You are completely right, many wanted Wilson hung, no trial. But is it hard to wonder why when you consider this goes beyond this one case.
Even taking in the fact that this goes beyond just one or even two, three, or four cases, it still doesn't represent what justice is. People who are holding signs that Wilson should be jailed for life don't understand what justice is. Wilson is entitled to the presumption of innocence until he is proven guilty. Many people just automatically judged Wilson to be guilty and needed to be punished. And I will say the same towards those who defended Wilson. They're just blindly defending him without taking into account all of the facts of the case, the situation, and the racial history behind it all.

IMO, this is exactly like the Trayvon Martin case where people automatically jumped to conclusions in support of George Zimmerman or wanting to see Zimmerman hang without absorbing all of the facts and an irresponsible media perpetuated the stupidity of both sides.

Uh Oh! New York has a huge protest now too! LAME AND SAD!!!!!!

Not as lame as making claims like that without providing a news source. I see nothing about protests in New York. Is this you trying to stir up drama again? :whatever:

A Fox news camera man just got punched - camera went dead afterwards - by a man wearing one of those anonymous masks.

Burn McDonald's to the ground. They're responsible. They're ALL RESPONSIBLE

Damn it's going down huh? Who was the genius that decided to release the verdict at night? Seriously this would be hilarious if it wasn't so tragic. Hopefully in Hypesters in the area stay safe as well as anyone not breaking the law trying to peacefully protest. I think someone said it best earlier in the thread that this will be the LA riots of this generation. Maybe some kind of meaningful change can come out of this whole mess.

Haven't heard anything here in Houston....I live in a 90% black neighborhood, but I haven't heard anything since this all began from anyone around here. Mostly families, I'm definitely the minority here, but very family friendly area. However, at the beginning, we had one of our main highways shutdown by protesters, so I figure we will have some protesting.
