Rob Zombie to remake "The Blob".

Yeah, but still, it annoys me that he keeps putting her in starring roles in his films. Especially in H2. :cmad: I havent even seen it yet, but I already feel like her role will be my least favorite aspect of the film.
I don't see how her roles in Halloween or H2 are main roles. Plus in House of a 1000 corpses and devils reject she was part of a group.

I've not seen the one from the 80's so i don't know what kind of characters are in it. I'm gonna have to check out the 80s version sometime.

What has me excited is that he wants to change the Blob itself. I wonder what he has in mind for this remake.

Sherri has done a commendiable job in her roles in Rob's films to me. They are polar god damn opposites.

One is a bimbo serial murderess, the other is a troubled mother with a sucky home life and a insane son. And she pulled off both well enough I thought.

Yes, it should be quite interesting. Seeing him work on something that takes more time and has a longer schedule to work with and more SFX. They said the budget should be about 30 million and will be R rated.

How would people feel if the blob was a different color?

Even if they weren't married, she would have starred in at least one of his films because the fact that she can actually act, when she wants too. And shes ****ing sexy.

I didnt say main, I said starring. If she was given cameos or roles where she dies in the first five minutes, I wouldnt mind so much. When she's given roles that require more than three lines... me not so happy.

Every direcotr has those close people he liked to work with. He likes to work with his wife.

I'm curious to see the age range of alot of the characters in this movie. And if he would cast people he usually does or cast new people.

And I also tend to have a problem with a movie where she plays a stripper, yet she's the only girl (aside from Laurie) that doesnt go topless. WTF, Zombie?! It's like Sin City all over again. ****ing Alba...

I don't think the color should bother anyone and what I got from his statement, it sounds like he's going to change more than just the color. :woot:

I've never seen the blob. Does it even warrant a remake?

I was just on IMDB and I see Shawnee Smith of Saw fame was in the 1988 remake. I did not know that.

Well, you know how people can be. like

OMG You're ruined it! I wonder if he's gonna change the blob shape. Like i said I never seen the 88 one so I don't know it does or not.

I can't speak for everyone but I consider the original with Steve Mcqueen as a classic.

It was already remade in the 80's but technically The Blob was one of America's first 'giant monster movies' like Godzilla was for Japan in a way, so I wasn't bothered about the first remake since it was done a few decades later.

I think it's such a simple story that I can't wait to see what Zombie has planned.

But i thought Slither was a good movie. But i'm sure this will be more horror then comedy.

Slither was never meant to be a horror, to my knowledge at least.

Yeah, its a mixture of both Horror and Comedy.

Alot of the streets and characters are named after old people directors and actors said by Writer/Director James Gunn.

The 80's remake didn't really add anything new from what I can remember. I think the ending had
some guy keep a piece of it in a jar, so it technically survived.

That's what has me confused. How is he going to change it so as he put it, people won't laugh. I mean a blob is a ****ing blob, not much you can do with it without making it not a blob anymore. :woot:

One idea that just popped into my head was what if instead of the Blob just devouring people and constantly getting larger and larger, if it sort of absorbs them and can take the shape of anything it absorbs.

Only problem with that is, it would be a major rip off of The Thing which is one of my all time favorites. I hope he doesn't go that route but I have no idea what else he could do while still making it 'The Blob'.

Wonder blob powers activate!
Form of telephone pole!

nomnomnom

Thats what I was thinking before taking shapes of things.

But were just have to wait and see. Should be out by 2011 I'm guessing. I think in the article it say shooting begins next year. depending on when it shoots and how long the effects take it could be out end of 2010.

I see they have the 88 remake up to watch on youtube. i'll have to do that sometime then.

Hmm...I'll have to add the original to my netflix queue then.

I like the 88 version more than the Steve McQueen version.

Ah, the teens of the day (despite the fact that McQueen looks 40)

Fearing the Commies made teens look old back then. Constantly hiding from nukes under tables and such.
