We don't need a sequel or a prequel to Carpenter's The Thing to begin with. And a remake would be pointless.

But Nivek is correct half the people moaning about this remake are only moaning because Rob Zombie is remaking it.

Part of the horror and suspense of the Carpenter version is the fact that you see the aftermath and only get clues here and there(video footage of them finding the ship and alien) about what caused them to go crazy.

My concern lies solely with the comments he made, if any director had made those comments I'd be wondering what he was going to do to the blob creature.

Are you actually worried about the changes he might make to the creature? Personally, this is the kind of remake I wouldn't mind any Director taking over. The Blob itself is not an intelligent human character that they might 'screw up', it's a gelatin alien with no emotion.

I bet Zombie's version of The Blob will have The Blob's origin as a moonshine experiment that went wrong inside a lab at a trailer park.

Seems Zombie can't break away from "Hillbilly Horror" as he's shown with his movies, so I wouldn't be shocked at all if that's exactly what he turns his Blob into.

Geez, I hope Zombie does a better job on this than he did on Halloween 2.

And BTW, the 1988 Blob remake was perfectly good. I don't see why we'd need another, and if we do get another remake, it needs to be bigger budget than what Rob Zombie movies usually get.

I think he should but of course it would have to move faster.

Unfortunately people would laugh at it today but shouldnt there be a way to make it reminiscent of the 50's and creepy at the same time.

I think a scenario where it immediately starts burning through your skin and just make it gory.

The first scene will probably be hillbillies at a trailer park getting slimed and this movie
will take place in the backwoods , no doubt.

Well it is true . I think The Blob has to appeal to a wider audience.
I hope he just cuts down on the foul language. I swear all the time
but RZ somehow goes overboard. I don't mind seeing his wife , I love
Sheri Moon , I think she can adapt.

He also needs to give us a relatable character and not fill this movie with scumbags.

i just got back from seeing H2 which i liked for the most part. I am really excited about this news and want to see what direction he takes it in.
