Rob Zombie to remake "The Blob".

Are we really still gonna complain about remakes?

You talk about originality. But yet look at all the posts here. Yours and the rest are remakes of other posts.
And how many times are you going to remake that post of yours whenever someone attacks your precious remakes?

Seriously. How many more times?

Technically nothing anyone does now days is original Aesop. You could use Blomkamp as an example but it's not like most of his ideas for District 9 were really that original.

When you take in the fact that nothing is original now days(all you can really do is put a different spin on things) then Zombie gets a pass with Devils Rejects, I would say House but that's obviously inspired by Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

I agree, while Neill isn't as original everyone claims (even me), I can't think of a movie remotely close to D-9 other than E.T. Which was also amazing.

Devils Rejects, IMO his best/most orginal film, I loved it, I loved the idea, the plot and the characters. House was totally ripped from Texas Chainsaw though.

For the most part, yes. It is old school and cheesy of course but it's technically a classic from it's time.

Oh okay. Zombie for the remake will sure to have ton of F bombs and gross people lol. But its all good Zombie the man.

Agreed. Believe it or ont, Zombie is a talented director. Not really a fan of House Of 1000 Corpses or Devils Rejects, but his Halloween movies are really good, IMO.

Rob Zombie is definately talented. I'd rather see him make T-Rex next though.

Holy ****, I totally forgot all about T-Rex! What happened to that movie?!

Exactly! Others get treated differently when their both doing the same thing.

Variety said:
"My intention is not to have a big red blobby thing -- that's the first thing I want to change," Zombie said. "That gigantic Jello-looking thing might have been scary to audiences in the 1950s, but people would laugh now."

[...]

"I'd been looking to break out of the horror genre, and this really is a science fiction movie about a thing from outer space," Zombie said. "I intend to make it scary, and the great thing is I have the freedom once again to take it in any crazy direction I want to."

Nice one in****ing the original classic Rob. Plus, youre more than 20 years later because the blob already WAS remade into a good, The Thing-like horror movie.

Robbie forgot about the 88 remake with Kevin Dillon. He forgot that the last blob we got wasnt "jello loking thing scary for the audiences in the 50s" like this one

But that someone already "made this into a modern horor creature"

Thats why he made Halloween 2. Cause he needed funds and they told him if he made H2. They would fund his next project. Which was suppose to be that.

Those pictures are ****ing brutal.

exactly. the movie has that 80s feel but its creepy at the same time. It has the best elements of the 80s like having things unexplained. it fell from the sky and thats it. If hed be remaking the 50s movie, I MIGHT be ok with it. Alhough idk, remembering what they did to the Earth Stood Still. BUt when theres perfectly good remake already then why...ah, then again, ZOmbie was the one who kept singing the anti sequel phrase for Halloween like a sonet while premiering the movie, saying that sequels are just unecessary appendages ruining movies. well, what did you just released now Robbie? I guess $ really talks. I still cant believe after all that he said years ago that he actually did H2

:hehe:

Don't encourage him.

I guess its okay to piss over all over something that hasn't even been made, but just be merely mention, but yet i saw something and i'm crazy.

Thats not right, sure, but at least in my case thats not the point. When a movie is a classic, and you like it and theres nothing wrong with it (why should there be, its a classic), then why redo it? why do it all over again/replace it?

Of course the answer is easy $ on recongizable brand, but the result often suffers tremendously in terms of story and presentation.

you know robs a pretty creative guy, and i'd much rather see something new from him. Hes not the best director in the world but he does work in certain ways and i'd rather see something that would much more play to his streangths. Remaking the blob just doesn't seem like it would.

all i can picture is the blob going over someone and going

"*****, how u like that **** you penguin**** mother****er"

Xp i'd go see it i guess

Why? This thread has been around for such a short time and its full of such foolishness!

Because it's just fun man. It's an amusing thought. The thought of Rob doing THE BLOB might be more entertaining the film itself.

I'm not at all bashing the idea of him doing the film. I'm actually very very excited to see what he will do. It's foolishness, yes, but people have an opinion, idea and want to say something humorious about Rob Zombie's THE BLOB.

When you think about it. THE BLOB is so left field and out of nowhere, and so soon confirmed after H2's release, that it's just an mind confusing thought. It's not at all a bad thought, but maybe, we're voicing opinions and hopeing that we're proved wrong. Hoping Rob seperate himself from...himself a little bit. THE BLOB just doesn't seem to fit into Rob's world...and to have him try and fit it into his world is very interesting and could be very entertaining. I don't think many people will have much room to complain. THE BLOB isn't exactly a popular or well known film. It's very cultish, yes, but it's so silly that no matter what, you can't go wrong with it, no matter who directs or writes it.

Its fun to say the same tired thing over and over again, that everyone has already made a million times?
