Homecoming Robert Downey Jr IS Tony Stark / Iron Man

Id rather have captain america show up in a spiderman movie rather than Iron Man. Caps and Spideys little convo was probably my favorite part of the movie.

I am kinda sick of iron man at this point.

I'm so sick of RDJ as Iron Man now. Can't wait until he gets killed off.

Well, there's this ritual in the first spider-man movies.
The first one always ends with a funeral.
Cross fingers this time will be Tony's

I definitely think both Steve and Tony should die in the Infinity saga.

:whatever: I'm more sick of the constant crying and complaining, but hey like everyone else I'm going to have to sit back and wait.

I think Tony will become an adviser in PIV through VI as a Sam Jackson type. RDJ will have five minute roles here and there until he decides to retire as an actor. There could be an Iron Man 4, but it will be a transition movie to set up the next Iron Man. I don't think he can be recast at this point. I've always felt that way after watching the first Iron Man movie in theaters. He's built the universe from the ground up.

Evans will be killed off in Infinity War and good riddance. The Bucky love affair is getting kinda annoying. The forced romance with Sharon was ridiculous. Get rid of him, in part I preferably.

Paltrow ends up with Happy. Hopefully Favreau comes back and sticks it to Tony, who decides he can't go wrong with Aunt May. I'd love to see it mentioned that Pepper is with Happy now as he flirts with Aunt May. I'm hoping RDJ hangs it up after part II, but I'm guessing there will be an Iron Man 4 way down the line, and Stark will be setting up either an illegitimate son/daughter or a protege.

Chris needs to stick around after IW, love the Bucky bromance and I've warmed up to Sharon. He's to Cap what RDJ is to Iron Man imo. Heavily disagree.

Cap is my favorite character in the MCU at the moment. Love Chris in the role, love everything about the dynamic that comes from Steve/Bucky and Cap's outlooks on things, morals, etc. but after CW, I'm dying to see Bucky Barnes don the Cap get-up and follow in Steve's footsteps. Here's hoping that happens for either Part 1, Part 2, or after the Infinity Saga 'cause I just can't wait for it.

Definitely going to buy the entire Cap trilogy at some point, too. Best CBM trilogy of all-time for me.

I think folks need to calm down and wait and see. I for one am excited about RDJ being in this but like others hope it's in a smaller role. Anyway I trust Marvel Studios they haven't let me down yet.

It's not that I don't want Iron Man to appear in this movie, I just don't want RDJ in the role. The smart-ass genius schtick got boring after Iron Man 2.

lol whats with all the RDJ/iron man hate. He's a great actor and iron man is one of the most popular in the MCU. Also there is no way he will overshadow Spiderman. This is going to be the only time we will have tony stark in a spiderman movie, well most likely. I for one am excited.

Again, I'm not averse to having Tony Stark in a Spider-Man movie, I just find RDJ incredibly irritating.

I don't find him charismatic or endearing in the slightest. I didn't like him before Iron Man came out, and now he's bloody everywhere!

Forgot about that one. Yeah he's great in that.

Still don't like him though!

He's shown intermittent flashes over the years as an actor. The drug and alcohol did him in. Had Favreau not vouched as hard as he did for him, he would not be a billion dollars richer than he was back in 2007. That's right, a billion, assuming he's invested at least half his earnings from 2009 on.

Lesson here? NEVER, EVER burn bridges with people that are still worth paying attention to. It's that simple.

Still not sure how I feel about Iron Man being in this movie tbh one of the aspects I always liked about Spider-Man is how isolated he was, theres always a sense of helplessness in his stories and the movie would lose that aspect with IM in it.

It almost comes off as a panic move for Sony, until you realize Marvel is producing the films. Is this one of those executive decisions that Sony had the right to override the Marvel guys, "we need RDJ or ELSE!!!" type of deal?

We don't need to know how he got the suit. That was done in less than 24 hours apparently (the story will follow Civil War most likely). Stark really doesn't need to be an Oracle/Jarvis type to Spiderman either (Stark would never have time for that).

My only guess is that Stark is giving him a mission that he can't do himself for some reason or another (Team Cap is no longer going to help Stark either). That, and yeah, they have to do a Stark/May romance for comedy. I'm all for it. The Spidey movie romance has been unwatchable the last three flicks. Let the veterans take over.

Tony will probably be like Widow in IM2. Minor character who gets to suit up for a B-plot fight scene in the climax. I'm all for it. I loved Tony mentoring Peter and think his involvement will keep the film fresh in the face of three different Spider-Man movie continuities in the last 15 years.
