Due to recent news involving X, formerly Twitter and its owner, the staff of SuperHeroHype have decided it would be best to no longer allow links on the board. Starting January 31st, users will no longer be able to post direct links to X on this site, however screenshots will still be allowed as long as they follow Hype rules and guidelines.

Fantasy Robert Eggers to direct a new Labyrinth movie?

Just avoid this guy and we'll be thankful:

Addendum: I’m excited for this in the sense I like it when directors go out of their wheelhouse. It’ll be interesting to see Eggers tackle that 80’s dark fantasy children genre.
This is totally his wheelhouse.

All I know is Dafoe will be playing Hoggle, no makeup necessary.

Anyone knows if the Jim Henson Company will be involved?

Since they’re specifically saying it’s a sequel, what if Jennifer Connelly becomes the new Goblin King?
That could be fun. But I'd guess she's playing a mom.
What if they pulled a Captain Hook from Peter Pan and she played both roles?

Story could be about her daughter seeing her mother as being too overbearing and overprotective (probably influenced by her experience in the first film). When she goes to the other world, this perception of her could manifest in a twisted physical doppelgänger who would be the main villain. Jennifer Connelly‘s character would have to go back and rescue her daughter, facing and defeating this threat together with her daughter (literally her mom’s true self helping destroy the false image her daughter built up in her mind) and ending with them reconciling and coming to a better understanding of each other.

Just an idea that came to mind.
