I was watching the scene where Starlord and Thor bicker on the Benatar about who's the leader.
Rocket is standing just behind them and his facial expressions had me laughing hysterically.

The Chitauri's are not useless, that's just Rocket being his usual trash talking self. Under Thanos, they have invaded numerous planets.
