is it just me or did they change the site consensus (not the percentages but the sentence summary) to something less favorable?
They did. It used to say something positive stemming from "Marc Webb's confident directing" or something along those lines. In other words, a complete fabrication.is it just me or did they change the site consensus (not the percentages but the sentence summary) to something less favorable?
Critics' views and opinions on comic book movies have changed a lot over the years. If Spider-Man 3 was released today, it would get a rotten rating.
Anyways, audiences seem to generally like it, and that's usually what I pay attention to.

...following the franchise's lowest Rotten Tomatoes score to-date (54 percent as of Saturday morning), the film received a concerning "B+" CinemaScore. By comparison, Thor: The Dark World and Man of Steel each received an "A-". Likewise, the pic's Flixster score is at an underwhelming 76 percent this morning (the Thor sequel was hovering around 86 percent on the Saturday following its release).

It's not like "normal people" are going to skip a Spider-man film based on a rotten tomatoes score...
I think it's going to go lower and lower as more people see the film. The audience % has dropped to 75....

It can be a meta allusion to his battle of reputation among moviegoers."Spider-Man' Greatest Battle Begins..." lol
I find it funny how Sony was supposedly "confident" when concerning this movie, yet were extremelly worried with the last. The latter had performed better than the former in almost every way possible, kind of makes me wonder what Sony values in these movies to spark their confidence.

The audience score would be lower right now had people who voted 10/10 and didn't see the movie not voted. People were voting before they had seen the movie. Now that people are seeing the movie and actually reviewing it, it's going down. Same thing happens with the early critic reviews. Movie studios want positive early reviews so they have some critics in bed with them. Same thing happens with everything concerning reviews (video games being another huge example). Once everyone gets their hands on it, it goes down.

Yeah...that's what's said every time this happens. The only people that hated this are critics and Internet fanboys. A good majority of the GA liked the movie. I see it twice now and both times it was a sold out crowd and applause at the end.
