The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Rotten Tomatoes score? - Part 4

I still think 54% is too high.

What is nice though is even the "positive" reviews are pretty negative. They praise Andrew and Emma then bash everything else.

This is what Sony gets for rushing.

I noticed that as well, it seems as though its the proverbial lipstick on the pig.

ASM2 isn't an under appreciated movie that in 5 years people will appreciate. It ain't going up.

and the movie has been out for 10 days.

The user rating isn't dropping anywhere near SM3.

I've never even been to RT, ha! No interest what so ever on what the general consensus is for a movie. I can form my own thoughts about it thank you.

Audience rating has dropped to 73%.

The user rating on RT is faulty. Like IMDB, you can vote on that 100s of times, so if you have a vendetta against a movie, you can tank the score.

Well if you think its to high then just take the North American reviews in isolation. Should give you something more to your liking. Its what I'm doing, just in reverse.

The user rating is more severely faulty for that it allows you to vote on the movie before it even comes out. Nobody should take that thing seriously at all.

You and I agree.

Wow....I'm surprised. It's not really that often that I genuinely like a film that is largely panned (outside of the usual art-house fare that is meant to be challenging to watch) I really liked this film, to be fair I've never really seen much of a pro-spider-man online and in the public in ages, i just don't think people like spider-man all that much in casual movie going audiences (in the west anyway)

Shame, i hope that RT score doesn't scare people away.

Yeah why is X-Man days of future past rated 9/10 on IMDB when it hasn't even been released yet and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is hated on by RT I'm being serious it's one thing to dislike a movie after you seen it but on RT the forums were bashing it for the last two years

They tend to balance themselves out eventually though, because you have just as many people voting it a 10, after a while it settles into a more accurate score.

Doesn't matter because the numbers can be skewed. See Godfather vs TDK in 2008. Fans of both movies trolled their pages and voted 1's multiple times so that their movie could be #1 on the poll. In the end, Shawshank Redemption became no 1. The fact a fan war can create data like that shows a flaw in the system.

When the early reviews were coming out (way before the movie became rotten on the Tomatometer), I became worried about the film when reading the "positive" reviews, not the negative ones. The positive reviews were far from glowing, and that stood out to me much more than the 100% negative reviews.

Then why even post in the thread dedicated to RT? Lol

Yeah, it's only been 10 days and it's already at 73%, and it's likely going to just keep going lower and lower. It'll probably be in the 60s before long.

So? Dark Knight sits at about 8, godfather is 2, Shawshank is 1. Each of these films are highly regarded by the general public, they are all awesome. It's not like fanboys have plunged an amazing film down to an unreasonable score, and it's not like a really bad film has gotten amazing scores. Like i said, eventually the troll scores and the fanboy scores kinda cancel themselves out.

Man, whats up with this forum? Seriously, the only people I see who post here again and again hate the movie. I used to post here but it's worthless now.

This was easily my favorite Spider-man movie. Loved everything about it. Also, whats up with the poll on the front page being so negative? It's got to be the most negative poll on all the internet for the movie. IMDB has 85000 votes and the highest voted score is 8/10, not 4/10.

But so can all the people here. But in addition, they can tolerate other opinions and compare it against their own. Which makes them better than those that can't, better than those that are scared of their fragile opinions changing if they dare glance at RT.

That's cool, but usually RT is used to point out to people why they are wrong.

"What? You think Movie A is better than B? Here's the RT scores, box office results, and metacritic reviews to show you otherwise!" Especially on this site. Well, certain corners of this site. Where only the most bold can let their true opinions be known.

Well...going to be hard for it to drop any further, LOL!
