Yeah its not up yet so how do you know and like i said i am going to see the movie it just wores me when you have more negitive reviews. Dosnt it make you more nearvours when a movie gets more bad reviews that you will end up dissopentid?

I thought this negative review was slightly better but still focused too much on the fact it's a reboot and not the actual film itself.

Honestly we need to put a Sam Raimi shrine with pictures of Toby Macguire's blank stare in the opening credits to the next film to keep these people happy, review the movie itself people!! :cmad:

I have gone from hoping this movie is a critical success to hoping it lays the groundworks for the next movie to be a 96% film!! :)

The positives outweigh the negatives by a large margin, it's just upsetting that a lot of good reviews don't get posted.

I noticed that the only reviews that don't have numbered or lettered scores are the positive ones, which explains why it has a 6/10.

Nope, doesn't make me nervous at all, I see a lot of the positive reviews, read the negative ones and I know the complaints that the reviewers have don't bother me too much. I know as a Spider-Man fan I will have the same reaction as those positive reviews had.

One of Brazil's highest profile critics, Pablo Villaça, liked the film a whole lot. I was very surprised, to say the least, as he heavily disliked the first one. He recorded a video gushing about the movie and saying it's his second favorite Spidey movie (losing only to SM2). He praised the tone and acting and only complained about the soundtrack and some of the visual effects. His critic isn't written yet, but obviously it will be positive. Oh, and I almost forget to mention, he's on RT! :woot:

If you want to try to watch a video in portuguese, here it is:

Also, Marcelo Forlani, a critic for Omelete (probably Brazil's biggest pop culture site), wrote a first impression-type of text and it was mixed to positive. He's not on RT, but he and the site are very popular and respected among us brazilian geeks and he also heavily disliked the TASM.

Here's the text, also in portuguese:

Even more pump for TASM 2 right now!

I couldn't care less about Omelete and their biased reviewers, but Vilaça loved The Amazing Spider-Man 2? Wow that spoiler free review from him is AMAZING, I remember been truly gutted when he trashed TASM1, and he literally LOVES this film. Wow, that's amazing news to me. :woot:

darn it i just saw that 8th bad review i didnt see it in till like 10 minutes ago and it is a c+ so if it had been a little better it would have been a positive review. Man 8 negitives already out of only 30 i didnt think we would have that many in till around the 70- 80 mark:doh:

Wait what? A C+ is counted as a negative but a 6.9 from IGN is counted as a positive on Rottentomatoes, what kind of scale do they use lol

so if we get 10 in a row that would get us up to 80% man this is going to be a uphill battle just to get 80:csad:

yeah looks like the c+ is countend has negitive. You would think that it would be consider a mixed and there for a possitve review. If it had been a b- it would have been a possitve review i would imagen.

The CRITICS decide what one they use.

Please guys, stop panicking, I've accepted the movie is going to do average critically, if we all accept that it'll make watching the movie much better :)

Did not know that, thanks for the info. I'm really not worried about the score personally, I know by reading reviews that I will love it. The only thing I am worried about is that I have to wait another 2 weeks to see this lol.

People really need to stop putting so much importance in RT.

Why do you care so much about the score? Shouldn't your opinion of the film matter more than some arbitrarily picked critics' opinions?

Agreed. People put way too much stock in RT and in the opinions of others. So what if this isn't the most critically acclaimed CBM of all time? There are plenty of films that I thought were enjoyable/memorable/moving experiences that scored in the 70's, 60's, and sometimes even lower on RT. It's interesting reading all of these reviews and gauging the reception, but don't let that cloud your own judgement or affect your enjoyment of the film.

Yeah but i didnt think this was just going to be review has just onther CBM i thought it was goining to be review has a Great CBM but looks like that is out the window.

I adored TASM and Thor: The Dark Worlds and they were 73 and 65 respectively which is about where this one will end up!

I have friends who love both Hobbit films and neither were critically acclaimed.

what was the scores for the hobbit movies? I have never been into them or lotr.

I don't think the score will affect people's opinion on the film, but truth is we all care about the score and we want it to be high. So When we see the score getting low it is pretty upsetting.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has 65% from critics and 83% from audiences. The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug has 75% from critics and 86% from audiences.

oh got you. I am going to have to look on rotten tomatoes had find some of the movies that didnt get good scores that i still like other then spider man 3 lol

Oh of course, it is really upsetting, we all want it to be a 95%-er, make 1.5 billion in the box office and have the fans absolutely adoring it.

People are a little jaunted that the franchise isn't with marvel, and that it is a reboot, some people WANT it to bomb, so I think, in combination with some poor scriptwriting, we end up with this so-so reaction to the movie.

I hope to see it in around 3 hours, so I will fill you all in as to how I felt about it if I can actually get myself to the cinemas

Yeah pretty much.

Cool! I'm excited to hear your thoughts.

If this film does perform poorly, what does everyone thing will happen to this Spider-Man franchise? Sony NEEDS this film to succeed in order for them to not go out of business.
