The problem it seems is that every negative review brings it down further than positive would make it go up, unless I get it wrong, but just one more negative review can bring down the score significantly.
It is simple math. Is it really that hard to understand? :huh:

@Darth: just making an observation, no need to be obnoxious about it.

Have you seen the movie Darth?
Nope. American, have to wait or fly to England. Which you know, wouldn't suck. :D

And I am pointing out that there is nothing tricky about it. It really is just math and you didn't seem to understand how it worked. As there are more reviews, each following review matters a little less.

This is the way of RT stressing will make you go insane the positives are there they RT posts them when they post them I have counted a lot of positive reviews from RT critic's the only thing I can't tell yet is the North American critics and how they will respond but I'm still with my 75-80 % in the long run

Sony are pretty successful aren't they?

PS4 outsold Xbox 1, they'd sell plenty of TV's, their new mobile phone is looking great and they are releasing major motion pictures. Also their a big player in the music industry aren't they?

Or are sony about to kick the can and I have not even noticed?

I'm guessing here, but companies this big usually work in divisions? I take it it's the film division, Columbia Pictures, who would be taking the hit if TASM2 failed... which I doubt. Even if the RT score dropped to 1% the film is still poised to make quite a bit of cash. Worst-case scenario, you're gonna have more people on the internet *****ing about the studio, which general audiences don't even care about.

This movie looks to be even more polarizing than the first one. Could be looking at a Thor TDW scenario here, the reception just seems to dip again and again.

If the film sucks it will still makes money, but the sequels will do less well.

What are you guys expecting from a movie scripted by Alex Kurtzmann and Roberto Orci?

A masterpiece?

I COULD be in the theatre right now but my mate wasn't keen to go tonight so now I am going in around 14 hours :)

This even holds true when there is an overwhelming majority to either side of the spectrum, 99 positives +1 negative equals one percent and so on.

Have you seen the movie yet? It is out in Aus now! I was suprised the theatres were open on Good Friday, so I'm heading down to watch at lunchtime!

Are you going to watch it or have the negative reviews put you off a bit?

No, but something that would generally be considered an improvement upon the first one lol to outside eyes this movie looks like it's been received worse than the first one (which I suppose it actually is).

Not only does their script not look to be top level, but there appears to be an attempt to backpedal a lot from what the first one established, rather than try to make this film gel with the first, in a lot of ways it sounds like the anti-thesis of the first.

I mean, it looks like, unless the 3rd movie really blows people away, this series is always destined to be generally seen as living under the shadow of Raimi's series, which I can imagine is pretty frustrating to the cast and crew, so Orci and Kurtzman better pull a tight, concise, well rounded script out of either their head or their a** for the 3rd one. This series doesn't exist in a vaccum.

I originally predicted that the score would settle around 78-81%, but unless the movie manages a streak of positive reviews with little to no negative ones, it looks like it'll continue to dip. I'm gonna guess 67% by the way things are going.

Imo these movies are better than the Raimi films at capturing the REAL Spiderman. You speak in such GENERAL and BROAD terms.

But are they better made movies in general? I'd rather have a great film than a faithful one, you're number one concern should always be quality. For that Spider-Man needs strong writers, and Orci and Kurtzman are just so inconsistent at times.

But we're getting off track. Does anyone here at this point believe this movie can make it to the 80s?

I will agree on Orci and Kurtzman being inconsistent. XD

I didn't think Star Trek 1 and 2 were that great. They were ok movies. However, I loved Fringe so they have that. I think this new movie will satisfy me. I've loved every bit of footage of seen and I have a general idea of the movie already so I'm looking forward to this.

I think it'd be a strech Joe based on how mixed it his been.

Will still make a boatload of money though

......Mostly all of the reactions have been positive. And so have most of the reviews. I still don't get this mixed thing...

Positive= 75% +
Mixed= 60-74%
Negative= 59% down

That's my opinion anways

two or three more negative reviews and the score will drastically change in a matter of time.
