The Dark Knight Rises Roven: Joker Could Return

People said Heath Ledger was a pretty boy though. Give him some scars and he would look pretty messed up.

ace i dont wanna ruin your parade but i highly doubt that nolan will bring back the joker. its just common sense. there gonna move onto other characters. ace sorry bout that

There won't be no raining on anyones parade untill Nolan himself reveals who the villains are. As I've said before, I'm happy for him to move onto other villains. If he decides to leave Joker out? Fine, i'll trust Nolans choice. But we can't completely right it off untill the villains for the film are revealed.

Exactly.

I remember my younger sister was sooo pissed when they announced Ledger as the Joker. She was going off about him being a pretty boy and whatnot.

Even after showing her that first makeup test pic(the closeup where you can't see his hair) and the leaked pics of the penthouse scene she still wasn't giving him a chance.

It took her the first full trailer where she could see him in motion and hear his voice and she did a complete 180.

I was surprised at first by Nolan's announcement that Ledger was the Joker, but in same time I was pleased knowing he would be able do something good. After seeing first photos on net, then the teaser, then the first trailer I was speechless. After seeing TDK, I was stunned by his portrayal.

In case of Jake Gyllenhaal - I don't know... I mean, he is not bad, but after Donnie Darko, he didn't convinced me completely in some movies he made. In Jarhead was good (strangely, Swofford's role was proposed to Christian Bale), even in Moonlight Mile and in Brokebake Mountain, but in rest not good at all.

Heath had a charisma, he wasn't a typical beautiful Hollywood actor, he had an different aura.

Not to derail the thread or anything, but I think, though Ledger was probably the better talent, that Gyllenhaal had the better touch when to picking film roles whereas Heath was inconsistent.

Donnie Darko. Brokeback Mountain. The Good Girl. Zodiac. Rendition. All good to great films.

I'm against a recast within this franchise, but in the unlikely chance Gyllenhaal got it, I'd be confident.

Meryl Streep for the Joker. She's THAT good.

Great films. Not great roles.

Hey guys keep in mind the chance of Joker being recast and included has not been ruled out at all by any means so this thread has meaning till someone involved with the filming dismisses it.

Out of those choices I've seen you guys post I like Jake and Guy Pierce best
both good actors Guy has worked with Nolan so they already have a chemistry and understanding of one another a good thing for actors & directors.. Jake is a good actor not bad by any means... lots of people are forgetting how good he was in October Sky .. Im sure everyone has seen that in school...... he did a great performance in that and was very young, but yeah Maggies worked with Nolan and him and Heath were good buddies aswell it would be a good choice for a actor to play homage to his friend if he be included in the script...

I think Leonardo Dicaprio could do an descent job after seeing him in become different people in Catch me if you can, a junkie in Basketball Diaries & and a ******ed kid in Gilbert Grape.. he was good in Blood Diamond too especially at emulating the accent... they were both around the same build aswell...

he seems like a actor who is really staying away from super hero movies though

also Johnny Depp is a great actor and Id prefer him to be recast as the Joker than be cast as the Riddler.... but who knows if he wants to fill Ledgers shoes twice

for people who hate the idea of him being recast Im sorry but until its dismissed by someone in a position to do so.... I figure I might aswell think what other actors could maybe do this role justice instead of further saying he will or will not be recast right now its just a whole lot opinions

I wouldn't mind seeing the Joker again. At first I was one of those people going "no one can surpass Ledger and it's stupid to try" but I realized that it'd be sort of a waste to not let someone at least try.

Bring in Johnny Depp and let him put a spin on the role. He's a fantastic actor, and he's pretty diverse in his roles.

you've seen him in 3:10 to Yuma, Alpha Dog, 30 Days of Night and (vomits slightly) X-Men 3

Ben Foster? He is one my choices for Joker. He looks like a psycho anyway.

I figured he'd be a better suited Riddler..........

I think Depp could do the role more justice...

anyone see Ben Foster in Freaks & Geeks? he has a small role as a handicapped student thats pretty well acted though and funny....

I do like him but yeah X3 really wrecked him slightly... though Yuma he was really good,, really made you hate him

Yea he was frickin nuts in 30 Days of Night as well. I like him for Joker because in most of his roles he seems really twitchy, unstable like he is bubbling beneath the surface. Actually come to think of it, that could be perfect for Riddler.

yeah I used to work with a dude who also read alot of Batman and he said if they recasted it was one of his choices.... I always thought he'd be much better as the Riddler than the Joker though after he brought him up...

Yea I could definitely see him as Riddler. He looks sorta geeky but you know there is something lurking beneath the surface.

I'm just watching 30 Days of Night, and am thinking how good a joker Ben Foster could be, because he is damn creepy in this.

Ahh forget it, just looked up and saw his name mentioned.

LOLZ. Bit late to the party! But I could see him as Joker or Riddler. I wouldn't complain if he was cast as either.

So was Ledger.

But damn, I would have had Jake as Peter Parker 1000 times before Toby Maguire.

Gyllenhaal? Imagine Raimi's Whiney Parker with Gyllenhaal's already naturally whiney voice. The results could be amazing :csad:

Yea Macguire is good. Tis just a shame as the movies progressed, his character was turned into a whiny prick.

Gyllenhaal as Parker is just an overall bad idea if you ask me. I think Maguire is great in the role, but is under the wrong direction.

Personally I think it's time for an overall recast of that particular franchise...
