If they really do go for more than 3 movies in this universe/timeline, I think joker reappearing in part 4,5 or 6 would be good. They could even use the theory that over time he recreates himself to explain the differences in personality and appearance (makeup application/scarring/outfit)

If they wanted harley as well she could even explain the theory about joker recreating himself to bats sometime before she goes crazy.

Otherwise he could appear whenever they reboot after this trilogy if they dont want to continue this timeline past a 3rd movie.

Thing is Nolan Batman done after the 3rd one. Will be no part 4, 5 and 6.

Most likely true, which is why I'd rather not have the Joker return. This is our last chance to see some villains interpreted by Nolan.

I'm just saying that WB might continue in this timeline without a reboot - hopefully while not screwing it up as bad as the burton to schumacher switch.

It will most likely be worse than a reboot but I'm thinking that WB only thinks about the $$$.
 
The Joker can either not appear in the third film at all but maybe, have a small cameo or just get recasted. Either way, I don't really care.

Well then Bat franchise is doomed again. Cause back in the 90s they thought that and the franchise took a crach. Problem is they cannot continue in Nolan world without Nolan directing. What don't you people get. It will have to be the new director new world with nocontinuation of Nolan theme. Schumaker changed Gotham and all but still was in Burton world cause they acknowledge stuff that happened in Burton's movies.

Best thing after Nolan is done is have the Batman movies be James Bond like. Have them be stand alone films that have no continuation whats so ever. Batman been around for 70 years they have ton of great stories to put on film to make that happen. Although a Knightfall trilogy would be great. With the exception of that only have no continuation in films after Nolan Bat flicks is finished.
 
I want the next Batman to take place during Halloween. Nolan used 'The Long Halloween' as inspiration for Begins and TDK, so it makes sense if the third is his last, to have it take place during Halloween.

If Nolan decides not to recast the Joker, I think it would be a funny little nod/homage to the Joker to have Batman to think the Joker's back, only to turn him around and see it's some guy dressed as the Joker for Halloween.

Agreed lol. But that be kinda cheesy and corny. But for the halloween thing like the winter better like christmas.
 
I honestly will get tired of batman if they keep rebooting it. How many times can u re-tell the same story?

I would love if they kept it continuous but do like they did with Gotham Knight or in the comics even.. Use a different Director in each one maybe...

There ARE, yes, more batman stories to be told, but, To end TDK with the Joker still being alive and cutting out Dent pretty much adn the joker? It'd be no better than Venom and the goblin II both dying in Spider-Man 3 quicker than *****.

Joker does need to be in the third one, even if for a short time; i.e. Showing him in Arkham or something. Bane would be better than Riddler I think. Something that can REALLY bring Batman down.
I might be going off topic, sorry. I am tired as it is 3:30 AM and I am running on 2 hours of sleep.
You guys are fun to read I love this.

Anyway, who is with me on the concept of different director's for whatever comes after 3, continuing batman's story just like in Gotham Knight or in the comics.
 
Agreed. I don't think certain franchises need to be re-booted. I hope Bale stays also because Michael Keaton was Bad-Ass and then wasn't in anymore after the first two. Now if Bale did the same thing... Oh I would be pissed. lol
 
Nolan will finish. Joker may or may not return. It will be great otherwise!

Joker will team up with a new bad guy named FIRE MAN who will crush and burn gotham city and kill alfred and another new character called Donald Jones who is a curropt business man who takes over the gotham city monorail business.

FIREMAN will become joker's new boss
 
Joker would never work with another villain, unless he plans to kill them or stitch them up eventually. And Joker would definitely not have a "boss"
