Saint's Row The Third

To be honest, it annoys me too, considering how there are way less customisation options than SR 2 yet they had all this excess stuff just ready to pay for in the week the game came out. Poor form from a games company that is in a lot of financial difficulty right now. I mean, traditionally dev's don't even really make money from DLC it's more a tactic to keep people playing your game and stop them from straying to other titles, but when you play the cheap ass card you can really run a risk of pissing off fans.

Mind you, I think SR 3 got a lot of new players to the franchise so perhaps it won't bother them so much.

It sure brought me in,I thought SR 1&2 were alright But it came off cheap to me and I didn't like the street gang aspect of them(I prefer mobs&bigger threats than thugs)!!

This game is many in one cause there's the action blockbuster feel like a MI type of movie/Sci-fi Tron stuff/I'm a wrestling fanatic and so the Luchadores&Murder Brawl aspects makes me smile with a HUGE grin/I get a super-hero or vigilante type of vibe with Saints being a HUGE deal and the high-tech weapons&vehicles plus the plot of STAG trying to stop them and The over-the-top insane elements that becomes the icing on the cake!!!!!

Yeah SR2 had more customization stuff But I think it's still great and I'm happy with what I've made so far anyway!

I'm insanely happy with the Vtol/Jetbike(makes me feel like Darth Maul or a Stormtrooper)and Cyperspace bike&car..I sure wish they were able to get customized But still I'm f'n thrilled!!!!

Loved Saints Row 2 and I'm totally fine with the customization in The Third.

It was basically the same as in The Third, except you could have different clothing layers.

And you could customise Cribs.

I do like that there aren't any Stronghold missions from SR2 to gain territory. Everything else seems, not much, but still inferior. But most of all, I hate the new music on the radio, there's eff all on there, I can only listen to about 3 songs.

I haven't finished the story yet, so I have a sneaky feeling he may yet return, but I loathe that they killed Gat.

I hope the sequel can combine the best of SR2 and SRIII.

It was more about the options of customisation in 2. Every piece of clothing had the options of how you could wear it, tucked in, clean, messy, buttoned up etc. That and layers, undershirts, overshirts, coats and then the ability to create emblems which you could put on your shirt, all in all it just made creating a character a lot of fun. It was massively streamlined in SR 3. As evidenced here though, clearly not that big a deal for some people, I just think it's a shame to lose something more robust for something a little thinner, especially when you can do so much more with said made characters in SR 3.

Yeah, I wanted to make Driver from Drive... got the wicked white jacket, but couldn't put the scorpion on the back. :( All in all, two steps forward and one step back.

And microtransactions suuuuck but it looks to be the way games are going. Lock s**t out of the game until you throw another couple bucks at it. Boo. :down

I just got this game spur of the moment. The commercial + character customization pushed me into it.

Welcome to Saints Row, triiiick.

I can accept the Saints Row DLC a lot more readily than the weapon skins from Gears... I seriously have no idea WHAT MS was thinking.

Toadly. It would have been so much better if they were all unlockable on the way to Seriously 3.0, like getting a token to unlock one for every Onyx medal earned or something.

I'm really disappointed with Epic's approach to customisation. I remember Cliffy B saying in so many interviews how much they were going to embrace the idea of character customisation and unlockables and XP, saying that "It costs us nothing, it's just giving the players and the fans constant awards." He even had a go at the Halo Reach customisable armour, saying "We're not just giving you measly shoulder pads, we're giving you WHOLE characters like VIP Cole". Flash forwards though and there are only a few unique characters, most of which are many, many levels apart and everyone else is basically a default character or DLC.

That's one reason I love Saints Row as a series, I love a dev that isn't afraid to leave their ego at the door and just give the GAMER the choices, give them the tools, the options and the varied game styles and let them play the game however the hell they want to play it.

Saints Row kinda reminds me of the sims in some regards. It's less RPG like with stats and more dressing up your doll and customizing it's items.

I bought Saints Row The Third and was surprised when I put in my online code that I received Saints Row 2 for free:]Such a good surprise

Just finished the story. No return of Johnny :(.

I was kinda disappointed too But I ain't mad about it,Yeah he was cool and all But overall I always felt he was overrated,I really like your created guy taking over as the main leader/bad a**&cool one!!!

Well, I guess there's no point in spoiler tags anymore. He's my fave character, and the lead writer killed him off because he was having a power trip.

"People kept telling me, "What, you can't kill Johnny Gat!" So I felt like I was making the right choice." --Lead Writer

What a bastard. Maybe if there were more cutscenes and the story was more solid I'd have appreciated it, but that thirst for vengeance only lasts until the end of the first act. WTF.

Hahahah I never thought I'd see the day Cliffy B channelled Peter Molyneux. :D

I really love the game, very fun, very fast paced, even if it can get a little too hectic at times. Right now, I'm currently trying to grind to get all of the side missions done, but damn, are some of them hard!

Also, I was considering buying the Season pass, but is it worth it? I kinda wanted the extra vehicles along with the missions.

Welcome to Saints Row, triiiick.

Hot damn! Who is this?

I haven't bought it yet, and I surely will. I just have one question: Can you still kick doors open?

Silly question I know, but I've found few things more satisfying in the previous games (and even THQ's Punisher game) than kicking open a door with a shotgun ready.

"I Need a Hero" playing during that one mission still makes me smile.
