Yeah... I mean the humor in the mcu is so deep. What a joke ! The humor in spider-man trilogy was more about quality and not quantity and it never remove the drama. And i don't see what are you talking... Cheeseball humor ? Also the movies was mostly serious and drama. So i don't see your point.

I would have been SO excited for this if they didn't shoehorn in so many characters to setup other characters stories/the future of the mcu.

I would have been SO excited for a more personal Strange film directed by Raimi with Nightmare as the villain. I feel like that's never going to happen.

They're not just writing a script now. They're also trying to come up with a name and concept for the main character.

They do have a script already, but it was written by another writer (Jade Bartlett), and not Derrickson and Cargill, which is all that Cargill's tweet said. This is the same script that the Loki showrunner is doing rewrites for, but just because that news was announced last week doesn't mean it just happened last week - I wouldn't be surprised if he was already working on it since last month or so. So I don't really see a delay happening if that's the case.

Also back when DS2 was first confirmed by trades to have Derrickson directing, THR's article about it said that MS was looking for a new writer to do the script (and they did). I think this is because they were disappointed with the script of DS1 tbh...and that's ultimately what led to the creative differences and Derrickson being replaced by Raimi.

Yeah...no. If Marvel can survive Wright being let go and replaced with a filmmaker who is solid, but couldn't hold Edgar Wright's jock then Doctor Strange is probably okay with Sam freaking Raimi of all people .

They basically start new with the writing and need to be finished in 2-3 months whereas other writers had 6-12 months of time
